Nah, when Darnell posts in the Effects forum, it's like a completely different person. His responses are sane and logical, he gives good advice, and makes some good points on how to move forward in most cases. My favorite was when he completely ripped another member on how he treated his wife. I miss when that dude used to post, I'd get a kick out of watching the forum eat him alive

True, sometimes mods pop in out of no where and remove threads that aren't that bad, but then days go by and the hatred flies fast and furiously, with no action being taken at all.

They'll tell you they don't act on things that aren't reported, but things that are reported also slip by. So it's a mystery.

I suspect it depends who does the reporting, and whether or not their previous reports have any merit. However, the mods did let it slip once that 90% of the reports come from the most flagrant TOS violators themselves, who like to bait, hook, and report, hoping to get another member suspended.

Out of the 513 murders in 2011 (last set of closed, final data) 199 of them were in Nagin's 'chocolate city' of New Orleans and 53 were in Kip Holden's 'chocolate city' of Baton Rouge. Murder rate in New Orleans: 55.3(number one woohoo). Murder rate in Baton Rouge: 27.8

Nagin and Holden aren't red state conservatives.

Murder rate in the rest of the state: 5.9

48.7% of the murders are committed in areas where 14.7% of the population lives.

This is a topic on concealed carry and the fact that ALL states now have it and that a Federal Appeals Court has ruled it is our RIGHT.

Can we get back to that topic? I thought the topic of guns interested you? Perhaps you could start your own thread to whine about whatever it is you are whining about. Why are all the low information posters here talking about something that fills their lives and concerns them so much which is not related to guns?

Probably not. The "trick" is that she posts stats as if they exist in a vacuum. They do not. I would invite her to post the crime rates for those cities two years before the state passed concealed carry legislation. (Rockford only now is getting it)

EVERY jurisdiction which has implemented concealed carry since 1985 has seen a reduction in crime.

There will ALWAYS be a "Top 10" no matter how far crime falls, no matter how much it is reduced. Even in Vermont, there is a "Top 10" of cities in the state.

The point is that concealed carry REDUCES crime, REDUCES victims every time it is tried.

Evylin's statistics are absolutely meaningless in this debate, not because they come from Huffington Post, but because they are presented as a "snapshot" with no conclusion.

Memphis has higher crime than Rockford, IL. So what?

But Memphis has concealed carry and Rockford does not!

In the debate on concealed carry, Rockford is not yet a player, there are no "before and after" stats available. What were the crime rates in Memphis before TN had concealed carry? That information is left out. In order to draw any conclusions (why would anyone want to do THAT?) then we need before and after concealed carry stats for each of those cities. That is your homework assignment Evylin. google "John Lott"

Clearly Evylin is not a math major and never had AP stats. Big surprise. The numbers cannot be debated because there is nothing to debate. It is like saying "I weigh 200 pounds" and trying to decide if I am losing weight or gaining weight.

The only thing Evylin has done is post some empty numbers. She may as well have told us the amount of Bar-B-Que sauce the population of a city consumes on an annual basis. If Evylin would like to actually participate in the debate on Concealed Carry and not the off topic issue of the rules of TOS regarding some irrelevant poster who consumes her life...then I have told her how to do that. "Teach a man to fish", as it were.

If not, she can continue to provide low information posts. Fine with me, she is not on my side anyway.

In case you wonder why I don't do the homework...

1. I don't need to, all 50 states have concealed carry. My homework was done and presented to people that make laws. I won.

2. I have no interest in spending any portion of my life educating low information posters. As long as we get concealed carry everywhere, I am comfortable having ignorant people walk among us.

PS I added the line about "I weigh 200 pounds" to give the people unable to debate the issue because of their lack of knowledge something to talk about. They can make jokes about my weight.
