The huffinton post.. Really . LOL That is way soo not accurate. Did you know that list factors in such stupid stuff as general availability of firearms and number of police officers per 100,000 people.

The Huffington Post didn't write the list. It reported on a study done by The Institute For Economics And Peace.

The newest edition of the U.S. Peace Index, developed by the Institute for Economics and Peace, ranks states by level of peacefulness. The index is based on five primary indicators: (1) number of homicides per 100,000 people, (2) number of violent crimes per 100,000 people, (3) number of people in jail per 100,000 people, (4) number of police officers per 100,000 people and (5) general availability of small arms.

Since you don't like the source I used, I'll give you another.

10. Mississippi

09. Arkansas

08. South Carolina

07. Texas

06. Missouri

05. Arizona

04. Florida

03. Nevada

02. Tennessee

01. Louisiana

http://xfinity.comcast.net/slideshow/news-10mostviolentstates/12/

Here's another source that lists Louisiana at the top of the list for most violent states:

http://www.nbcnews.com/business/most-least-safe-states-america-756544

1. Louisiana

Violent crimes (excluding murder) per 100,000: 537.8 (eighth most)

Murders per 100,000: 11.2 (the most)

Incarceration rate per 100,000: 867 (the most)

Police per 100,000: 542.8 (the most)

Basic access: 79.2 (fifth lowest)

Total cost of violence: $9.82 billion

Of the five metrics used to generate the Peace Index, Louisiana received the absolute worst score in all but two of them. The state has the eighth-worst violent crime rate and the fourth-worst rate of gun suicides. The state has the highest levels of both police per capita and incarceration. The state’s 867 prisoners per 100,000 people is well more than the next-worst state, Mississippi, which has 686 prisoners per 100,000. The state’s murder rate is what truly sets it apart as the least peaceful in the country. Louisiana’s homicide rate in 2010 was 11.2 per 100,000 residents. The next-worst state, Maryland, had 7.4 murders per 100,000 people. Louisiana was also among the worst 10 states for each of the 10 categories shown to have a high level of correlation with violence.

You do realize that you just quoted the same exact absurd economics and peace survey 3 times correct...

ya, stats sponsered by the Huffington post always have something wrong with them. a skew, a bias, or fraudulent counting to match an opinion.

Do you actually read anything that's posted or do you just respond and hope something makes sense?

You do realize that you just quoted the same exact absurd economics and peace survey 3 times correct...

Your original post only questioned the Huffington Post, for some reason. You've since changed it to say the study is false as well.

I'll leave that as an exercise for the reader, aye?

Top ten most dangerous CITIES in America...

Hopefully the FBI isn't "sponsored by the Huffington Post" too.

01. Flint, Michigan

02. Detroit, Michigan

03. St Louis, Missouri

04. Oakland, California

05. Memphis, Tennessee

06. Little Rock, Arkansas

07. Birmingham, Alabama

Go back and read.... I don't care the articles all quote the same absurd report that uses amount of police offciers, people in jail, number of guns avliable, etc.

None of which tell the true story on crime.. lets use the Census Bureau a ok . it only reports actual crime, not how many lawful gun owners are in the state . Look thru here and let's get to the truth. You will clearly see LA-5th , AL-23rd and MS-31

epic fail for you and Teddy. You chased him down the liberal logic hole.

If you can't stick to the topic, you probably shouldn't post, Darnell. You can go talk about whatever "krewe" you want in the OT forum.

Noted ! I'll try to stay on topic, in this thread, aye?

Illinois MUST issue concealed carry permits, it's ban on concealed carry is unconstitutional! The legislature has until June 9 to decide on the details and meaniwhile they give reciprocity to other state's permits!

Gary, this is the best news ever !! I have been sickened by the lack of handgun support in Chicago over the past few years, always thinking 'But if the other fella had a pistol, this would be different..'

So?

Out of the 513 murders in 2011 (last set of closed, final data) 199 of them were in Nagin's 'chocolate city' of New Orleans and 53 were in Kip Holden's 'chocolate city' of Baton Rouge. Murder rate in New Orleans: 55.3(number one woohoo). Murder rate in Baton Rouge: 27.8

Murder rate in the rest of the state: 5.9

48.7% of the murders are committed in areas where 14.7% of the population lives.

The violent crime patterns also follow. Get that?

i don't get it.

Throwing more guns at the situation always helps. What could possibly go wrong...

How is the killing of thugs, wrong, in this context ?

No, I've stopped trying. I'm 99% convinced it's a very dedicated troll.
