Jean, I'm sorry you're having such a hard time with DOS and with Cairo. I really hope they issue the visa soon.

But at least think of it this way- they're going to try to issue the visa now. It's gone through the first round of extra checks, and you've passed. Don't think about the possibility of more checks. At this point, you just don't know, so why borrow trouble? Prepare yourself for the possibility, but hope for the best and pray for the best. It could all be over soon!

I know we're all here praying for you and rooting for you. Please keep us posted whenever you know something.

Good luck! (F)

My PC had VJ overload, beware everyone

ummm...exactly what are the symptoms of a possible VJ overload?????

1. Refreshing the page every 30 seconds to check for new posts.

2. Knowing how to use all the features like "active topics"

3. Keeping VJ minimized on your screen 24 hours a day

4. Staying up really late so you can be the first to start the daily thread

5. Contantly looking on the VJ site for the "careers" section so you can work there. (you might as well bcz you spend 8 hours here a day)

6. Everyone on VJ is on your messenger list so you have constant communication

7. You post pictures of food, drinks, flowers, etc and pretend they are real

8. Choosing an avatar is the biggest decision of the day

9. Saving screen shots of posts and other things so you can use them at a later date.

10. You have enough smileys and graphics saved that you can start your own website.

Just to name a few...

I appreciate the supporting words. I've never needed them so bad. You know, its not just waiting another 3 months that has us wigged out. Its that his father's new wife is pregnant and Mohammed is currently the only son and military exempt. If she gives birth to a son, he's in the army for a few years and that is the wait that's hard to stomach. I would wait forever for him, and I know he will too, we've discussed all this at length, but the PRESSURE of not knowing what road your future is going to take for all these months (14 now) is taking a tremendous toll on both of us. This is a wicked game in the name of security the government is playing. I too do not understand why ALL name checks aren't done simultaneously. All this time I thought they were! If we have to crawl through every dad-gummed Mohammed in Egypt first, I'll die of old age before I ever see him again! We could still have hope of a child together now, but after a few more years, its looking pretty glum. This is all just terribly hard to swallow.

Please don't worry too much about M4E. My friend Fatimah knew how her interview went, but didn't want to tell anyone much until he had the visa in hand. When you go through what these ladies have been through sometimes you're afraid things will go all wrong again. Maybe she's just holding her breath and will tell us all about it once he's got his visa in his hand and they know it's actually going to happen. Fatimah and I spent most of the day e-mailing each other (we work at the same company) for the days between the interview and the visa issue. It was really hard for me to not come let everyone know how it was going, but I understood her position. All we can do is send her all of our good karma and mojo and prayers that the visa will be in his passport soon and she can bring him home with her.

Ok if she has already stated she didnt want to tell anyone, then why are you telling everyone here? I don't mean to be rude but if she has a preference that this stays private and she didn't even tell you personally but told your friend then it's not your place to talk about here.

I've become unclear on what we are "allowed and not allowed" to post anymore, but I guess being human, I need to vent. If my venting annoys you, please just skip this post.

I think Fatimah is somebody else who already has her visa. I guess Fatimah had a successful interview but didn't want to share until the visa was in hand. And *possibly* M4E could be doing the same.
