Nope, it's been around for years, I read about it back in 2009, that's why I asked was it still going. I remember they interviewed a few students about it in front of the school while the prom was commencing, they said it's the way it's been for a long time, while they were walking hand in hand with their dates.

All I can say is wow. I checked snopes, urban legends, etc. I don't know what to think about this. Quite frankly I'm really angry.

It's messed up to say the least, since it's privately funded by the parents and held off of school property, they can discriminate without worry of legal troubles. What they need is a celebrity or something to do a guest appearance or donate a ton of money, that way it would be brought to light in a big way.

Depends on how you do it. Think of it this way: If you have a place/bar/club, and it's yours free and clear, you can have whoever you want come in. Now if you want to discriminate, you come up with something that whoever you don't want inside can't get their hands on. Case in point: Back in 1997, I was stationed in Germany. There was this club called the Airport. Mostly Techno and a little R&B. My friends and I went on a Saturday night, when we got to the door, the doorman told us we needed "special passes" to get in. I asked where could we get them, he said "at a bus stop" and closed the door. We tried for months to find these passes, but of couse they didn't exist. It wasn't until I went there with my first german girlfriend that I was even allowed in, and that took a good minute of her arguing with the door guy in German to let me in.

Now you talking. That's not legal, but here's the pitch. How do you know it's whites only at this event? Think about it, racism is hard to prove in most cases. If these proms are whites only, there isn't a sign or even promotions about it. They keep it within the target group, if you're a minority and show up, all they have to say is, you're not invited. How can you prove it's racism? Especially in a place like GA.

Edit: Just read a piece on the history, here's how they get away with it: The whites only prom is called the "private prom" and the interracial one is called the "public prom".

If it is a place of public convenience (restaurant, bar, supermarket, shop, etc.) no dice. What you do instead is form a private club, calling it maybe "The Gentlemen's Establishment of Fine Gentlemanliness", and acquire a piece of property for your clubhouse/cigar bar/wankatorium. Then you decide who gets to be a member. If everyone just so happens to be white, well, gosh darn it! This works until a race traitor decides to integrate the club. Then a campaign of embarrassment may start. This could work, or not.

Downside is there are some hot chicks who won't want to be a member of such a club, or even accompany a member as a guest.
