Good news.... My mother's VISA was finally issued yesterday (05/09) after receiving the 221g blue slip and being under the AP (Administrative Processing) for missing documents (NVC lost my original birth certs). I am glad the waiting is OVER and now I am booking her ticket to arrive here in 3 weeks.

Congrats. My parents Case was complete May 8th and now i await for an interview date in Nairobi. Any idea how long interview dates might take?

Thanks rainyblue! As for the interview date, it depends on the consulate. I have seen interview occurs between 35 and 45 days after case completion.. Just be patient and you will get there.

As for my Mom's case i am still waiting for her original documents to get her,she already mailed it to me yesterday from PI, so hopefully soon.. My case has taking this forever because my Mom has to get her BIrth certificate from NSO and have to correct her name and when she got those,have to get her passport as well, on top of those process i went back to the PI for emergency for a couple weeks(lost my brother) so do not have the energy to do extra things as we are mourning.. And now as life goes to normalcy i have been pushing my mom to get everything done,decide and plan what to do back in PI because i am the only family member that she have left other than close relatives. That is why i have not paid IV BILL because of this but is planning to pay next week will just in time for her papers to arrive.

So congrats to those who passed and good luck for those who are still waiting.

I am so sorry to hear about your lost and I do feel your pain. I lost my 20 yrs old yound sister few years ago and it was painful to know that she was gone.

As for your mom, I know you are all still mourning the lost of your brother and the energy is probably not there. Please remember that, God have plans for all over us in this earth. Be strong and you will get through. May his soul rest in peace!

Congrats Jc_colin. What country are you from? Iam also waiting on interview dates from Kenya after case complete. Will probably be july or august as i have been told Nairobi takes 2 to 3 months. Per police report, my parents was issued in December and its good for 6 months, so do you think i should tell my parents to go ahead and get new police reports once interview dates have been scheduled? Also doesn't seem like they really asked your mom much. Fingers crossed for my parents interviews.

Latest updates... My mom (65 yrs old) went to her immigrant visa interview today and was given 221(g) for missing the following documents:

*Petitioner birth certificate (This was submited to the NVC and the interview letter confirmed the receipt. Someone lost it somewhere. It's ok my parents are getting a duplicata from the civil authority).

*Police certificate (the police certificate clearance does have 3-months duration and the expiration date was today 4/10/13).

Hello jc_colin! Congratulations on your Mom finally getting her visa.

I have some questions to you. Did your Mom have her original birth certificate with her at the interview? And if yes, did they still ask for a certified copy? Or did they lose her original birth certificate?

Regarding the 3-month duration of the police certificate, do you by any chance know if it is a rule for all the police certificates? Or is it specific to your country? My parents received their police certificates from Belarus on March 27 and from Russia on April 11, their interview is scheduled on July 10. So I am wondering if they need to get more current police certificates. My parents will be travelling to Poland for their interview from Belarus and I really would like to avoid any additional delays.

You should send the original from a copy that was filed with the I-130. The birth certificate should include your birth info and your parent's names.

hi there! i am glad to read that you got your parent's visa finally and would soon be with her.

Can i ask you some questions because my fiancee's mom might be petitioned by her son who is now a USC. However, he said, because she has a medical condition, she may not pass the medical exam, etc. My fiancee just wants to know if this is true. Her medical condition is not contagious by any means. It is a blood auto immune disorder that makes her platelets (that part of the blood that enables clotting) low (6k to 25k only) compared to normal (150k-400k). This blood disorder has her mom needing to raise her legs most times and she cant stand for very long periods due to the blood having a hard time circulating. It is life threatening for her mom but other that, she is fine and still can move about normally. She just feels that if her mom can be eligible to be petitioned despite her medical condition, that would give her some hope and strength to get by and conquer her condition. She also thinks that the less polluted place like the US would do her health good.

Would you know if they have requirements or something to this effect that petitioned relatives should be free from any medical condition? i mean for 64 to 65 yr olds, some medical conditions cant be helped right? (like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, etc)

Hey guys, I'm not sure about the order in which USCIS send the approved cases to NVC. My file was approved on 5/29/2013. I received NOA2 on 6/01/2013, however NVC has not received my case up to today. I spoke with a NVC representative yesterday 6/15/2013, he said that they still haven't received the case from USCIS. He was super nice though. What's your take on that?

Hey guys, I'm not sure about the order in which USCIS send the approved cases to NVC. My file was approved on 5/29/2013. I received NOA2 on 6/01/2013, however NVC has not received my case up to today. I spoke with a NVC representative yesterday 6/15/2013, he said that they still haven't received the case from USCIS. He was super nice though. What's your take on that?
