If only people described as being exploited as props, political footballs or background ads were asked how they feel about those labels, perhaps critics would think twice about applying them.

No better example of this misapplication was how the right wing of the GOP skewered the president after he invited 50 women who lost loved ones to gun violence to accompany him on stage last week. This was part of his continued drive to override congressional inertia and the muscular NRA to pass stronger gun control measures. “He is trampling on the memory of murder victims” and using them as props offered, an article in the Tea Party News Network.

He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it.

No, using these families as a prop just shows that he is taking advantage of them.

Thought I'd say it before someone else did.

The Tea Party News Network beat you to it.

President Obama shamefully used the bereaved mothers of gun violence victims to try and sell his unconstitutional cause

look at the very first comment:

if this man is so overwhelmed by "sympathy" for these 50 women who have had their children taken away from them by some mentally disturbed individual I ask this one direct question:

Why hasn't he been seen in South Chicago, his "home city", surrounded by 400+ black mothers who sons and daughters have been slain by black thugs?

And this is a city run by his former Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanul(sp) as well as his present Attorney General, Eric(The ever concerned fairness advocate) Holdler and cracking down on black on black crime is not "politcally expedient?"

Perhaps, just perhaps, it is because each of these shooters were "white" (gulp) and he could continue his drive toward greater racial division?

sounds kinda familiar..

wonder what the reaction would be from the right, if obama went in for a 'photo op' in his 'home town' and spoke of the need for gun control in relation to 'black on black crime' in chicago..

Oh look, he only cares about black people, what about Newtown? What about Colorado? There is no way he can win in some folks eyes.

i mean, haven't you heard about the racist church obama attended? he's obviously only concerned with creating racial divide. he wants to take away all the guns from law abiding old white dudes so armed chicago criminal teenage flash mobs can slowly overthrow the elite in every major city in america. afterall, "they" aren't enforcing any laws anymore.

Yep, but when he goes to Newtown to express his sympathies, Chicago is thrown in his face. Whatever side he chooses, he will always be on the wrong one.

You know it, the GOP has had racial remarks and incidents the entire campaign trail, even after he won, we still hear those old school GOP republicans sticking their feet in their mouths. They have been trying to use Rev Wright against him for ages, but when their party does it, no big deal.

And you forgot to mention it is all related to the weather, warming up in the windy city, ergo Obama is responsible for global warming! Buy ammo!
