it looks like you will need a sponsor if she does not have a social security number or even tax returns.

give more information please so people can help.

can she prove she was born in america?

She needs to back file taxes for at least three years- USCs are required to file taxes with the IRS even when living abroad.

Depending on how old she is, she may have been issued a SSN automatically. If she contacts the local US embassy, they may be able to look it up for her.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Yes she has a valid US Passportand birth certificate.

We are currently living in Australia and wanting to migrate over to the USA. We are both giving up our jobs to spend 6 months travelling around before returning back to the UK (my country of origin), so we dont have any jobs to go to but have money to support ourselves for the duration.

I will have to look in to getting those tax returns done, is its quite a straight forward proceess or does it take time?

She is 32 so not sure if she would have been issued a SSC automatically, will contact the local embassy.

Yeah it's fairly easy- she won't have to pay any taxes, just needs to file. I don't know the details but the IRS website should have them.
