AOS: wait for the 2012 tax filling?

I posted this on the wrong forum earlier... Sorry for those who read it twice.

My husband has prepared the documents to send out for the AOS. In 2012, my husband (US sponsor) was working in the US. He has a W2 for 2012 but our US tax haven't been filled up (deadline April 15th 2013. Done by professionals). In 2011 and 2010, he was working in Switzerland and he filled US taxes. Thus, we have the IRS documents for 2010 and 2011 but not for 2012 yet. He also has a letter from his current employer. We are unsure about two things:

(1) Can we send in his W2 for 2012 without the tax filling? Or should we wait for April 15th 2013 to be able to mail out the 2012 tax filling?

(2) If we are suggested to wait for the 2012 tax filling, we will fill up the form I-864EZ. If we can sent out the AOS package without the 2012 tax filling, can we fill up the I-864EZ or should we fill up I-864?

Thanks for any help on this.

We filed with 2011 as being last tax year and will either get a checklist for 2012, which is unlikely, or I will bring his 2012 tax extension or tax return and w2 to the interview since it will likely (as in definitely be) after April 15th.
