I've read here that some people have received RFEs due to overlapping dates in their employment history on the G-325A Bio form. So what are you supposed to do if you had two part time jobs at the same time?

Also, if you've been promoted within a company, should you list the employer twice with a different occupation title, or should you just list the employer once?

Sorry if this seems like a non-issue, but it seems that RFEs can occur over non-issues, so I'd like to be sure.

Thanks!

nickypeas,

The only RFEs I've read about with respect to G-325A were for lack of original signature or not submitting all 4 copies.

Can you give me a link to some of these others? First-person experiences, not 'I heard that ....'.

Thanks.

I have read the posts where members did receive an RFE for this. They are in the old site and are no longer accessable to post links from. I have not read of any this year but then maybe the referencing to not overlapping which I have been an advocate of has averted this; or perhaps now they are not so ####### on this.

aussiewench,

Thanks for the reference to old posts, even though they are no longer available to review. My own personal experience is that overlapping employment has not created a problem, has not resulted in an RFE, and I had a lot of it!

Beyond my own experience, my comment here in this thread was based on an opinion frequently provided in numerous posts by a notable immigration attorney with long experience such as this one.

Getting back to the point, I think that habits can be important because in stressful situations or under pressure we generally resort to them. With respect to immigration, developing the good habit of 'telling it like it is' is important because although not all misrepresentations are material misrepresentations, developing the bad habit of fudging information for the sake of convenience leaves the door open to a material misrepresentation and consequent disaster. So, get in the habit of submitting correct information and be prepared to explain if a question results.

There's not much 'white space' on a G-325A, but perhaps 'asterisking' overlapping employment dates and writting '2 jobs' or 'part-time job' or other appropriate brief explanation in a margin is a better way of forestalling an RFE.

I wrote p/t next to the jobs that I had that overlapped. I also just wrote the different job titles for 2 jobs with the same employer, ie. : Collections Technician & Curator of Collections. I also wrote into the margins where necessary. I had no RFEs.

Just write a note that you had two part time jobs at the same time and different titles resulted by the promotion.
