Whoever wrote the article needs to go back to school. This isn't a criminal background check they are asking for. They are wanting to know if someone is wanted. Big difference.

You are exactly right. The writer got it wrong. They are checking for outstanding warrants. Big difference

Indeed. And now Danno needs to be consoled.

Danno, posting something misleading? Never!

Can't believe I am coming to his defense here but this not his fault. While the article is clearly misleading and poorly researched and / or written, it's an AP article. It's not like he willfully posted a misleading article. That would be a valid accusation when he posts the garbage he pulls off The World Nut Daily.

I still don't believe it's connected. Not to Texas anyway. I have outstanding unpaid traffic tickets all over the country and I just renewed my Texas license without a problem. In fact when I drove to Florida a couple years ago, I drove up to Arkansas and down through Mississippi since I have outstanding traffic warrants in Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Tennessee. Arkansas offers my only safe passage to the east.

Is it possible these places dismissed your tickets due to their age?

I know when I got rejected for my renewal the guy at DMV told me the home Land Security is what brought my old NJ debt up.

I also have some in Ca. but never got tagged for those, and I am pretty sure I used my real license then at least on one or two.

The Florida tickets were about 10 years old when I applied for the D/L in Colorado. The others are all 10-20 years old now. Maybe they are dismissed. I don't feel like getting pulled over by some Louisiana state trooper and finding out the hard way though.

Just caught the underlined.
