There was a member here from Thailand that had a rough time with the same situation you're in. The problem wasn't so much the Singapore police certificate, the problem was they would only send it to the Embassy in Bangkok. Once they sent it there, they couldn't find it for a couple months. I'll see if I can find the thread.

ETA:

Here is the member. I'd PM her and ask her. She's pretty helpful.

Thank you Karee. I've been wondering about that possibility. The embassy paperwork implies it will go to my fiancé and then she is supposed to send it and her passport to the embassy. But I'm not so sure based on what I've been reading here.

Hi guys - just to update, I managed to get in touch with the COC office using the +65 6557 3985 number just a minute ago. I think they only take calls before 12 noon.

Try now, if you can!

Thanks. Will try calling tomorrow. I just sent them another email since they didn't reply to my first email.

Thanks, I finally got through at the above number just before they closed Dec 29. The CoC was mailed December 17 and they gave me a tracking number. Thailand Post tried to deliver December 24 and 25 but my fiancé had left to visit relatives in northern Thai. The tracking note indicated a need to contact the postal center. I'm hoping they will hang on to the package until my fiancé returns January 6. I sent an e-mail to the Thai Post Office indicating the situation but not sure who really reads the e-mail or even if it's the correct address. I'll let you now what happens.

Singapore CoC was picked up from the Thai Post Office on January 6 (one of their e-mails said they hold these type packages for 15 days, another e-mail from them said 2-4 weeks). The CoC plus my fiancee's passport were sent to BKK US Embassy the same day via registered mail. It was delivered January 7. Now waiting to hear about when the K-1 Visa will be issued. I e-mailed the US Embassy on January 13 and asked them to verify they had the documents and asked when we might expect word on the Visa. They acknowledged that they had received the documents and that they were in process, but nothing more specific.

Anxiously awaiting word and hoping it will be ready in time for my trip to Singapore February 7. So that my fiancee might join me there and then head home to the USA.

Did you try this number: +65 6557 3985 ? Call before noon on weekdays - they are closed this Friday, 31 Jan, for Chinese New Year. They will give you a tracking number (different from your reference number), and you can ask them where it was mailed to.

I am applying from Malaysia and it's being mailed to wherever you pick it to be mailed in your application. There's a place where you write where you want it to be mailed. I applied 12th december and I received my COC 2 weeks ago.

NVC never asked for COC, it is the consulate during your interview. Check your packet, it should be written there

sing_us is going the IR1/CR1 visa route - they may have to submit police certificates at the NVC stage, unlike K1 applicants.

Thanks for all your reply.

NVC not providing a clear information on Singapore police clearance requirement. I have no option to expedite getting the Singapore certificate to save time. NVC insist to wait till they review and reply. If they reply me after 2-3 weeks to get Singapore clearance, my timeline will further delay :(

Based on reading here in VJ, for K visas, i believe corresponding Embassies will request for Police certificates after it receive the case files from NVC.

Can anyone please reply when and who will issue you the official letter ( tats ... Photocopy of document from relevant consulate/immigration authority/government bodies to establish that the certificate is required by such authority) NVC wil send it to you before sending case files to embassy ?

I am done with submitting all forms and documents and now waiting for case complete. Thank you

I didn't go through the IR/CR1 process so I am not 100% sure. But...I have read others saying that the Singapore Police Force will accept the NVC checklist as a request letter for the certificate of clearance.

You will also have to submit an appeal form if you are not a Singapore citizen. Appeal form found here: http://www.mfa.gov.sg/content/mfa/overseasmission/canberra/consular_services/certificate_of_clearance.html Application form here: http://www.spf.gov.sg/faqs/doc/coc_appform.pdf
