Hello,

Category F1 family-based. Dominican republic.

Does the police report has to be translated to english? We already submitted it translated almost two years ago when we paid the visa. They are asking for it and a new birth certificate, do we have to translate everything again? The interview is in three weeks. Please let me know. Thanks.

I would follow whatever instructions you were given.

They have English and Spanish speakers at the Consulate; it shouldn't be a problem. But to be safe, just have copies in both English and Spanish.

K1 Visa Process -> 12/09-06/10 Married -> 09/10/10 AOS Process -> 09/10-12/10 Removal of Conditions-> 09/12-07/13

U.S. Naturalization -> 7/8/20

Hello Again,

I have another questions. My sister interview is for May 1, 2013. When do you guys think is the best to do the medical exam? Two weeks before or one week. She plans to go on 4/19/2013, is that too late?

She is going with her 19 years old sond and 12 years old daughter, they are included on the petition. We already know that they don't see minors on Thursdays. Thanks again.

Try to go 3 weeks before they suggest 10 business days beforeim suggesting this because I went 2 weeks before and I had to go back to the capital and get them 2 days before the interview which sucked

I would go as soon as you have the packet IV (appointment letter) in hand, but it depends on how quickly you want to travel to the US after your appointment. I think travel is only good for 6 months after your medical, but you could wind up in something like we did where you have to wait 8 weeks for a medical result before you can travel. Good luck!

Also, in the Dominican Republic, I think the rule is 5 business days minimum before your appointment, so 4/19 is fine, but if you have your letter already, I would go on Monday of next week based on my experience and the hopelessless we felt to be together waiting for another response from another unresponsive piece of the immigration puzzle.

I think only 25 or 30 days in rep dom. We got ours 12 days before and it was fine. It doesn't take too long to get, unlike some of the other documents.

Hi Mrs. Rodriguez, thanks for your answer. Why did you have to the Capital to get them? Don't they send them to the consulate?

Yes they send them to the consulate but only if you go atleast 10 business days before the interview (dont count weekends or holiday) I went 2 weeks before which is only 8business days thats why I had to go pick it up it didnt give them enough time

It is true that you have to take certain documents to the Banco Popular? See below:

Last: As soon as you have obtained the documents that are applicable in your case, take this sheet to any Banco Popular branch in the Dominican Republic to pay US$15.00 (the equivalent in Dominican pesos) plus applicable taxes per applicant. This fee is for the official verification of your records. Only applicants who will be age 18 or older on the day of their interview need to pay the equivalent US$15.00 fee. Make sure to take the Banco Popular receipt to the Consular Section on the day of your interview.

Has anyone done this before? or this is just another way for them to make more money out of us. Do you guys think that this is necessary?
