If people are uneducated about something, they should absolutely have no right to write laws on that very thing. I absolutely agree.

It amuses me, though, that some people only care when that "something" is what they agree with.

Ignorant people writing laws about abortion? Sure, sign 'em up!

Ignorant people writing laws about gun control? OMG THESE PEOPLE ARE IDIOTS!!

I think that the abortion laws assume, whether one side or the other agrees, that unborn babies are little people who should have rights.

They are not necessarily about either "men's" or "women's" rights.

As to the silly lines about pregnancy and rape? That's some sick chit that those guys come up with.

i don't get it.

.

Considering the most legislation on abortion is decided and written by men, assuming is all they can really do when it comes to it.

As it happens in similar situations, assumptions quite often lead to incorrect conclusions, such as the one you postulate.

Basically, you admit that you're arguing a strawman here. Nobody is trying to defend Todd Akin, but you would prefer to attack him instead of admitting that the idiots trying to pass gun control are unqualified to address the issue.

I don't think you're following along.

I'm not saying the people in this post are qualified to write any gun laws - they're clearly uneducated on the matter of guns.

I'm saying it's exactly the same issue when ignorant and uneducated men think they should have the right to write laws on abortion.

You'd be surprised at the number of posters who don't think the latter is a big deal, though. That was my point. Unless it's something they personally agree with, then they don't care who is writing the laws.

Men's rights?? You mean every law and right on the books written by men, for mankind? Womens rights have to be separated from man's rights and laws because womens bodies weren't considered when MEN wrote the laws.

Geebus you is dumber dan dumb.

Are you serious?

Yeah I suppose so, there are many specific laws with gave women favorable protection and rights.

Everything from Laws regarding trafficking in prostitutes to "assault on a female".

There are even laws against profanity in from of women and many many others.

But in some peoples minds, they didn't cover a women's right to remove her fetus, (part by part)... so there was no protection.

What? You're the one who brought them up, in response to my "women's rights" comment. Surely you brought it up for a reason? Don't back out on it now, let's hear it.

Are there men's reproductive rights that women are trying to write laws about?

Thats exactly what I thought... you can't name one.

Name one WHAT? A right that a man has? I understand what you're attempting to do, but it doesn't make sense.

You: Let's talk about men's rights

Me: Okay, which ones?

You: You tell me!

Me: You brought it up, what do you want to talk about?

You: YEAH YOU CAN'T COME UP WITH ANY. JUST LIKE I THOUGHT.

A typical Danno conversation.

No, actually this is my post, responding to your mentioning "women's Rights"... I was curious if men had any of these.

<<<Have you got an example of men not understanding the facts of the legislation arounds "women's rights."

and for a bonus question, name for me a few "Mens rights". >>>>

As is typical, you never produced on either point.

:bonk:

You were curious if men had rights? Or if men had women's rights? Or are you confused that women's rights even exist? And that men's rights are just called, you know, rights?

You seem to be having trouble articulating what it is you want.

I gave you a great example of certain men not understanding very simple things like pregnancy, rape and abortion, yet they want to write laws about it.

Postulate? LOL. Hardly. The anti-abortion laws are written based on the assumption that(1) babies are people and (2) thus assured a right to live.

Are babies people? Must one postulate this?

Are they alive? Must one postulate this?

If one postulates that babies are people and that babies are alive then is the conclusion that they have the right to live correct or incorrect?

On the other hand one must postulate that babies are not people and babies are not alive to conclude that they have no right to live. Those who postulate otherwise further postulate that this is not a correct conclusion.

Either way these laws and the passing of and striking down of these laws do not have a dam thing to do with "men's" or "women's" rights.

That is what I was saying. Legislation on abortion are quite often drawn by men, based on sophistry or incorrect assumptions which leads to an expected questionable result.

It's like when Republican men try to write laws about women's rights. They clearly don't have a clue.

do women have a clip or a magazine? :hehe:
