I'm the USC and sent in a copy of my certified birth certificate and a copy of my original bc. Unless I overlooked something, we won't need his until after the noa2.

As for his divorce, we have a certificate of divorce from the court, and like I said, I sent a photocopy of it. I'm hoping that's all that's needed as they paid $500, walked into the court, signed some papers and it was done. I'm still going to make hom get some extras just incase.

I'm really hoping we don't get an rfe, especially just for the dates on the photos, as it said on the paperwork, month/year, but it is the govt.

He's going to start searching his parents house for the vaccination records. According to him, he thinks he has everything listed, but his former doc is retired and the place closed, so he doesn't know where to go to get official records. I'm going to have to do some research on that.

Thanks for the link on the car import. I'll give that a look and figure out what we need to do.

Good luck with the shots! I hate needles, so I'm really glad he's coming here and has to go through it instead of the other way around lol.

Tila, I think, I'm not sure, but if you send in something, I would include a copy of the NOA1 and put your case # on all pages. Hannah may be able to help with that since she's done it.

For our packet, I put on photo per page in a word doc and typed out the names of everyone in them, the month/year and place it was taken and the circumstances (ie our first cruise, my dads wedding, Christmas, etc.). I just neglected to add the actual date. Some have gotten rfes for it, some haven't.

As for packet 3/4, that's embassy specific, so you'll need to go to their website and see if its downloadable.

Go April filers!

Hi Tila, don't worry about the signature, they probably made us sign in the back of the pics to make sure that if the photo gets out of the whole package, they made know who the person is. By the way keep me inform if you find any information on package 3 and 4. I will also do my own research if anything I let you know.

Hi everyone,

This is day 13 since we received the NOA1.

My fiancé, the petitioner, doesn't want to research anything off the internet so I'm the only one who actually has an idea of how long we'll more or less have to wait.

He has persuaded himself that I will have the visa by July... no matter what I say, this is his belief. It breaks my heart every time we Skype because I know it's going to take longer, and I can't tell him because he doesn't want to hear any info that I read on forums.

I'm having a hard time coping with it all.. especially the look on his face when I imply I may not be with him before the fall. I just want to cry! crying.gif

I wish he or I won the lottery (I actually do play every week) because being apart is so difficult... and we can't afford to visit eachother.

I know I'm not the only one, we're all on the same boat, but it's precisely because you know what I'm going through that I'm sharing this with you.

You guys can empathise.

I just feel so low and depressed right now. cray5ol.gif

My heart goes out to everyone who's feeling the same.

We have to be strong!

I know it's difficult but when you come to terms that you aren't going to even get your NOA2 til at least November IF you don't have any RFE's THEN you have to wait for your interview (you are looking at December at the earliest), it's only going to make it all the worse waiting. Just take ONE day at a time. Plan your day, fill the void. One thing my fiance will not let me do under any circumstance is complain about the wait. All you can do is be happy you are one day closer. Believe us, we know it's hard but if we dwell on it, it only makes it worse. I have in my heart that I won't have my visa til February. If I get it before that, I'll be ecstatic. IF it goes longer, then I can start to worry and be sad.

hi guys...i am SO sorry i haven't been responsive oh this thread. My excuse: I was in London with my fiancee. We also did a mini-trip around Europe (Netherlands, Brussels, and France). To let you in on a secret....even though we filed in april, I was able to save up enough for a small engagement ring =) I proposed to her in the gardens of the Palace of Versailles (I was going to do it on top of the eiffel tower, but I didn't....long story). I can't express my happiness and the grief of this trip. I'm incredibly happy because I got around to formally proposing to her and giving her a ring which she always wanted. At the same time, it breaks my heart to see her leave and go back to the US. One night she is in my arms and I feel like no power in the world can separate us...and the next day she's a thousand miles away making me feel like all that was just a dream.

On a separate note, I'm happy that this thread has quite a few members =) and i KNOW it sucks not to be with your loved ones, but hang in there! I'm right there in the same boat with all of you. By sharing your thoughts, concerns, and feelings, we can help each other and get through this!

To smtha81 and everyone else that's suffering through this process: I think of all the difficult trials and tribulations I've been through in my life and this process is by far the hardest to cope with. I try to not think about how senseless it seems to me. I try to focus on the end result; I've found the most wonderful woman I have ever known and the price to pay for a lifetime beyond my dreams is this process of stressing over being apart for far too long, stressing over every detail in the paperwork, the anxiety of anticipating what might go wrong to cause further delay, the desperate lonliness of being without her next to me and on and on. I have to remember I've suffered more and sacrificed more for much longer periods with results that were either so terribly dissapointing or in no way as great as what I know in my heart my life with my asawa will be. We all have our ways of coping with stressful situations, my ways are different than hers, she may not suffer the same way as I do but no question she suffers too. The worst time was at the airport as I was about to leave her. Everything in my mind, my emotions, everything I believed in was telling me that entering that terminal and leaving her behind was the most wrong thing I could ever do. I did not know how to behave or cope with the overload of thoughts and feelings as my rational mind was at war with my desires. She had a migraine and just shut down. I wanted to hold her there forever, she wanted to leave. Of course she was right, I had to go, there was no other option but to get back to the US & get the petition going.

Her faith has strengthened my faith. We speak in terms of hope and wishes. We had to wait 9 months to meet in person and during that time we did not know when she would be able to travel home from her overseas job nor if my finances would provide the funds to see her. Suddenly she got news she had a ticket home and I had an unexpected influx of money. With very little advance notice during the busy December travel season I got tickets. The best I could do was get to Manila 2 days before her and wait in the hotel for 48 hours. I used that time to recover from my 36 hours of flying and learned how to use my new smart phone. Then it was time & I was there at the airport and for the first time I saw her in person in a crowd of thousands of people and heard those words "Hi hon". So I know, no matter how long it takes this time, we will be in each others arms once again, only this time there will be no more painful goodbye's.

We all have to do our best to cope and keep our thoughts on the goal and the reward at the end of this journey. If some of our partners have to tell themselves it will be much sooner than we know is possible then all we should say is "I hope so hon".

smtha81, some people are skeptical of forums, but if your fiance is interested in a more "factual" source of information, I encourage you to direct him to the USCIS website. The website shows the acutal average processing time, provided by the United States government, for each type of visa, and for each service center. Also you can type in your receipt number on the USCIS website and to see updates to your application.

I know everybody has different ways of coping, but personally I find solstice in facts and information that best prepares me for what is to come.

Of course all of us are hopeful that things will move even quicker than expected.

Best,

t

hi smtha,

There is no doubt it is hard, I get down often but then take a look at the list of positives I have and are yet to come and I can get through. I have done most of the research for things because my fiance's job doesn't allow for much internet time. I am so very fortunate that my Fiance is the patient one. He knows we are looking anywhere from 5-9 months before we wil be together, unless he gets some serious overtime and can come for a visit while his daughter is with her mom. I am the one going stir crazy. But then I have alot more organizing and arranging here before I can leave.

We have each other here to lean on for support too, we are all in the same boat and hopefully will all get where we want to be in the near furture. July is really pushing it unless VSC and CSC suddenly start working miracles. I am not expecting to be in Texas until November, that way when it happens before it will be a pleasant surprise.

Hang in there. We will get there eventually.
