Our visa application was approved. WHat happens next? We changed our wedding date from December to August because the visa process was taking longer than anticipated. Will our approval be valid until then?

I am not sure how long he has to travel to the US, but once he lands on American soil you have 90 days to get married.

Hey Everyone, just an update, Crossed the border at Sweetgrass on Nov, 2nd and it was a easy as pie. Gave them the sealed envelope, waited a few moments while they went through it. The boarder guard seemed a bit confused as to what I had to do on the dates on my Visa, but It is all good. We went downtown last week, got the marriage license and we get married this coming Saturday. There was really nothing to the crossing, they never looked in the truck, and I had a numbered list of everything in the truck so we were good.

As for the length of time to get married, You have 6 months to cross the border, and another 90 days to get married once you cross.

We delayed the original timeline, which would have had an interview/K-1 granted in November, so that my fiancé could be home (in the USA) for Christmas, and return to Australia for a visiting fellowship in January. He interviewed January 21, and we went into AP thanks to a slow lab not sending x-rays on time.

Happy to say that he received his packet and VISA with K-1 today. :-)

So my fiancé had his interview today. Not approved. They said I must live in the USA. I'm an American citizen currently living in the UAE. My fiancé lives here as well. All of the paperwork has always had my UAE address on it. Our RFE clearly states I live here. I'm so frustrated as you can never get anyone on the phone at the embassy and embassy appointments are not easy to come by. They told him to bring in proof of my living in America. WTH?! However they made him pay for the dang on visa. Please help! We've already rescheduled our wedding once

We set our wedding date... got the visa... and he left for Europe! Three weeks later he wrote me and said to withdraw his visa application (can't really do that, he already has visa in hand) and he does not love me and does not want to marry me. I've started the custody process and child support process. There was another woman in Europe. Now I have all this wedding garbage (decorations and whatnot... including one hell of a ring and dress that I'm holding on to for a little while). I really hope everyone elses stories end better than mine did. Now I'm looking into how to verify my son's birth with Brazil so when he is older I can get him dual citizenship if thats what he wants to do.

You have to show domicile in the US. You can't live in the UAE and apply for the visa.

We set our wedding date... got the visa... and he left for Europe! Three weeks later he wrote me and said to withdraw his visa application (can't really do that, he already has visa in hand) and he does not love me and does not want to marry me. I'm sorry that this happened to you. Your son was born in the US? Let him decide when he is older whether or not he wants dual citizenship with Brazil. If you do it now, your ex can cause a lot of problems for you if he should suddenly decide that he wants the child.
