Sounds like bad info. So many fast approvals under 6 months and we all feel blessed but after the NOA2 we all are seeing strange things like no NOA2 and months before our approved NOA2 are seeing delayed file's sent to NVC and we can't get an MNL#.

Hello everyone! How many of us here are still waiting for the NOA2 in the mail since July?

I have bad news... I called USCIS and all they told me this time was that there was no need for a service request... blah blah blah, and that they will transfer me to a tier 2, for which I am still waiting a call back.

Also that I need to go ahead and file the form

I-824, Application for Action on an Approved Application or Petition

This form has a cost of $405 dollars!!!! protest6wz.gifranting33va.gif

Can you guys believe this?! This fee is even more money than the I129F itself!

Any ideas of this?

I am totally amazed! I can't understand all of this BS!!!!

They gave me that shpeal too but I knew it was misinformation, I asked to be transferred and a T2 IO filed a Service Request to have my NoA2 resent about a week or two ago. Then I called again about it, and I was informed that it was mailed out yesterday!

I would say call again, and make sure that you're firm that you never received the initial NoA2 and you're not asking for a duplicate, you're asking for the initial approval notice which you never received.

So don't let them con you into paying the fee for a duplicate copy, make sure you stand your ground and you'll get it. :)

Ok. I did that 2 weeks ago. I spoke to a Tier2 and she put in a service request for the NOA2 to be sent to me but today is 2 weeks after and I called and asked to speak to a Tier 2 given the answer they gave me.

The thing is that the Tier2 of today's phone call did not seem to know any more than a regular representative. She could not tell me what happened to the last service request. INSTEAD SHE SENT ME TO FILL OUT THE I824! cray5ol.gif

That's not correct, you need to insist. You never received the original, you're not asking for a duplicate. Ask to be transferred to a Tier 3 officer or a manager, if they try that on you next time you call.

Anyone have any idea how long it will be (on average) from the point of my case being transferred to NVC until I have a case number? I got the usual "it can take up to 8 weeks" I was like "That's from approval to being shipped to you, my case has been shipped to you as of yesterday." Then she just got curt and said it wasn't in the system yet. *shrugs*

My case was sent on the 15th and they received it on the 22nd. They put it in the system on the 23rd. Still waiting to be sent out. They said my case is under AP, to call back in a week or so... :(

I figured it would take a week or two to ship to them, thanks!

We're hoping to be reunited by the end of the year.

Are you able to make an infopass appointment? I would probably go that route since calling is getting you nowhere. There, you'll be able to speak face to face with someone and hopefully get to the bottom of your NOA2 mystery. You should not have to pay that fee if you never received the original notice.

So maybe I am being a little paranoid but here goes. I am an American citizen that submitted a I-129F for my Ethiopian fiancé. Received my NOA1 April 26. Processing times for the CSC is saying 5 months, case is still showing in initial review. 5 months is coming up soon. Is my December wedding unrealistic?

An old saying. Don't put the cart before the horse. In God's time and pray it all works out not your time.

While some cases are moving very quickly, it isn't something that should be planned. For us it was another month between NOA2 and NVC. Then an aditional few weeks to interview. So Depending on how fast the consulate is working and how quickly they can book interviews, December might be pushing it.

So after waiting six weeks to have my case sent to NVC. Finally on 9/4 I received email that the case was sent on 9/4, then I called NVC on 9/6 at 10 PM and was told they received the case today. I also received my case number, my invoice number and the beneficiary ID. I wonder if writing to the director produced these results for me.

You will need the invoice number for the new DS260 application. No more DS230!!!!!!

Lets see how long it takes to get the file to the embassy.
