I got my 3rd notice today that my file is being processed at a uscis office. I read on here that that means my file actually is physically at the office on someone's desk with a pile of other ones. Anyone else get the email? I know me and my fiance were excited over this.

I haven't received any emails, but after visiting the forums, I've been checking our status online. I just checked again and it's the third notice now.

I know we should have nothing to worry about, but now I'm starting to get nervous. Lol. Everything seems to be falling into place for us, I'm just hoping that doesn't mean a monkey wrench is going to get thrown our way anytime soon.

Is there anyone who didn't get their file transferred from the VSC? Kinda getting the feeling that my fiancee and I are the only ones who were left out from the transfer. =(

Lanu, are you able to check your status online? If not, I would definitely call and attempt to speak to a tier 2.

Today at 7:45 est time I received another update in my email. Editing it but it says The last processing action taken on your case. ETC ETC The I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at edit #


During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators.

When I checked my Status on USCIS it said: The I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at Edit. # ETC ETC

I also received a text message... it basically says my case has been updated.

I hope hope HOPE this is good news. I have been searching the posts made but didnt see about a third email with a text. Unless I overlooked it. Has anyone else received these messages in this order?? Wonder what is next!!!!

I believe for those of us that got transferred that we will have an approval or RFE in about 3 weeks (fingers crossed). (just estimating that length based on the June 21 filers that got transferred). For those that weren't transferred, I have a feeling your file is on someone's desk right now otherwise it would have been with our batch. Keep those hopes up, mine are!

Read that thread (and the posts on it). It should help explain a few things.

The text message is just another notification option you get when signing up for notifications. You'll sometimes get them when your case is updated. It's not terribly reliable, but it's standard.

if our file is indeed on someones desk, don't you think we'd get a notification on email/text that someone has touched our file? I'm kinda freakin out our file wasn't transferred

I think the reason transfers got 3 separate status updates is something along these lines:

Update 1 - electronic file sent

Update 2 - physical file scanned to be sent from Vermont

Update 3 - physical file scanned once received at Texas

This is just me guesstimating based on how the company I work for transfers files. I could be completely off base.

I also got that third e-mail on Friday. It is so nerve wracking sitting and waiting. I was less anxious when I could just sit and think that it would be sometime in October that it would go through. now I am wanting it to go through asap.

I know the feeling! I'm getting all the documents I have to mail to him together (Birth & Divorce Certs, documents with original signatures, etc) and sending them out with a care package and a note.

It helps me feel a little less useless and impatient when I have something to do to possibly speed along the process. :c
