I had my InfoPass appt this morning. I was the first one in the door at 7:30am.

I was very disappointed with my appt, but I knew it could go either way. What I found out is that their processing times are 6 to 8 months for the I-130s and my file hasn't been touched yet.

So bummed :(

Are there any DC transfers out there that have been approved yet??

Does it matter if DC has a different processing time than what it SHOULD be (3-5 months)? I'm not at the 5 month mark yet at this point, but for next month and beyond, I'm not sure if anyone could help me if DC field office is telling me they are still working on 2012 files. Not sure what to do.

if it was me I would be ready to fire at five months and a day

I do not think you should pay a penalty because of where you live

I would definitely call uscis for an IO and repeat until I get someone who will generate a service request

congressman's office immigration liaison

representative's office immigration liaison

omnibudsman

another is scopscata I think it is spelled

and anyone else you can get to complain to ..

Thank you. Yes I agree with you...I should not have to pay a penalty because of where I live! I'll look into complaining as of next month :)

I'm on the four month mark hovering on the five. So far I have not encountered anyone from our field office who have gotten approved quickly. This is kind of depressing that to an already long processes we have to wait longer because of the gigantic backlog that has piled up on the Fairfax office.

According to the trend chart it doesnt look like its gonna get any better. I'm bracing myself for a total of 10 months from NOA1 to the end of this wait. As for how I'm gonna keep myself sane, that is still a work in progress.

Cheers!

We are 12 days away from our 5 month mark, we received a letter back from our senator and he said he had written to Fairfax USCIS and said to wait 30 days to hear back from the senators office which is the 19th June, as it happens its 2 days before our 5 month mark!

Will see what happens i guess.

I had spoken to one of our congressman representative and she told me that the DC office is currently filing August petitions and i should be hearing from her soon but we shall see and it has been over 5 months for me and i am still waiting and it sucks! Thank God we will see each other soon for our mini-vacation.

Wow this is unbelievable, I am going to file in September, I am wondering what is the point if it takes this long? I might as well just move to her country, 10 months for an NOA2 is RIDICULOUS.

Edit:

I live in Maryland and according to this I will be going through the Baltimore office (even though I live right on the border of DC). Does that one have anything to do with the DC office? Does anyone have some info on it?

Would you mind sharing the format of the letter you wrote to our Senator? I live in VA and my I130 (for my wife) is pending for 8 months now. I am thinking about writing a letter to congressman/senator. Thanks for your help.

I dont have the letter on my laptop but it basically outlined when we sent our I-130, our names and details and asked for the senator to look at our case and help pus it along,

Hope this helps

Has anyone on VJ got approval for their I 130 after August 2012 from DC office? I am just curious to know if DC is even working on any of the I 130 petition?
