Birth Certificate Does not have biological dada name

Hi Everyone,

I'm not quite ready yet but I have been reading this forum to see what the process will be to finally be reunited with my daughter.

I read the overview and saw that it says for the USC stepfather, he needs a copy of her birth certificate, showing BOTH her parents. The thing is, only my name appears on her birth certificate (her dad was a deadbeat and quite non-existent from the beginning) he never showed up to register her birth, because he didnt have a "ride".

So, what impact if any will only my name appearing on her birth cert have?

Will I have to track this guy(biological dad) down for him to give permission or something?

If the stepfather will be the petitioner then there should not be any problems using the birth certificate which you have without the biological fathers information.

August 22, 2012: case complete
October 18, 2012: Interview (APPROVED)
October 26, 2012: Picked up visa from DHL (delay caused by Sandy)
December 15, 2012: POE Atlanta....................became USC July 2016!!!!

Mothers' Journey (My sister is the petitioner)

September 10, 2013: Sent I-130 (UPS next day service)

September 12, 2013: Received text to confirm delivery

September 16, 2013: Received NOA 1

March 22, 2014: Received NOA 2

April 8, 2014: File Received by NVC

May 26, 2015: Interview (approved)..........now LPR (delays caused by 2 RFE)

No problem. My two older children do not have a bio father on their birth certificates. My husband applied for them. No questions were ever asked anywhere. It's been a few years, the children are US citizens now.
