We haven't run into any problems with EAD (all most seem to care about is a social that checks out with E-verify) but I can imagine that is totally infuriating :angry:

I don't think it's a matter of checking things thoroughly again...I think these files just sit somewhere until they get around to signing off on the paperwork. I'm sure they figure "hey this person probably already has permission to work and travel so no rush on our end', Seems like K-1s get screwed from start to finish. Not feeling very positive today SIGH.

My husband has run into the same problem with EAD. He got turned down for employment because they wanted green card instead of EAD. (was told EAD was temporary and to come back when he had a green card)

It is ridiculous that it is taking so long to process these. We have been thru all the background checks and interview with the initial K1.

If i had to do it all over again, I would go the CR1 route.

Better yet - tourist visa with "no intent" to marry. OK -NOT REALLY! ...was just being snide ...besides my hubby was denied a tourist visa- But I would go the CR1 route instead.

That does suck Wildsy. Have you tried calling and arguing you are out of processing times to get some action?

To the others in the thread, not hiring you because you have "only" EAD is illegal. http://www.eeoc.gov/laws/practices/inquiries_citizenship.cfm

What's funny, the conditional Green Card is only for 2 years. So what are they going to say? Can't give a job because it expires in two years? Anyone coming to the US to work, will only have an EAD card. Next time tell them it is illegal to have this hiring practice, it's against the law, then I would not want to work for those people and just move on elsewhere. If you want, report them to the authorities at http://www.justice.gov/crt/about/osc/htm/charge.php

It seems many people are in the same boat as I am. :crying:

As much as I love to celebrate anniversaries, my 1 year AOS waiting anniversary is something I do not want to celebrate! :unsure: In May is gonna be 1 year that I filed for AOS.

We had received the first RFE in June 2012 (they wanted my husband 2011 taxes) and we sent it to them. Then my case was sent to CSC and passed 9 months till last week when they informed us that they sent me another RFE letter! This is the second RFE they send me during AOS process.

We are trying to think what else they may want from us now. I'm afraid they want me to do the medical again. Of course after almost 1 year waiting, my medical would be expired!
