Hi, has anyone got a yellow book lately? How much do they usually cost?

At one of the clinics (in Shanghai) recommended by GUZ, they said 400 rmb. Is this possible?

Shouldn't it range from 20 rmb to 100 rmb (based on some VJ post from 2010 that I just read)? Thanks

last year. under 2000 rmb medical cost.

400rmb is just the vaccination and doesnt cover other medical items. everyone pays about the same price.

you are at the mercy of designated examining hospital. dont worry to much about it because you pay the same price as everyone else on that day.

before you get a yellow book, you should wait for nvc to instruct you to conduct a medical exam.

IMO, anything medically-related for an immigrant interview

is

cheaper in Guangzhou.

Yellow Book is easy to get in Guangzhou.

But - what are we talking about here?

First, there's shots. Must to pay for shots.

Getting shots produces a shot record, which goes into the medical file and you can't touch it or see it.

to get a SECOND shot record, a verbatim original of the one in the medical file (this is not a copy, this is a new original) costs an extra fee, usually 20 to 100 rmb, depending on which nurse you have that day, and is gotten at the exact same moment in time that one is getting the shots done.

Well, that was #######, I try again.

When yer getting shots for 'immigration', the shot record stays with the medical file, you never get to use it.

If you'd like a shot record that you can use in the USA, you need a 2nd shot record made, at the same time you get yer shots.

Usually, pay 20 to 100 rmb extra for this, on top of regular fees.

Sorry for the confusion.

Yes, Darnell. I was referring to the above. She was saying 400 rmb to get this "yellow book". So I thought something must be wrong or misunderstood....and decided to ask VJ

This is post-K1. She already got her K-1 visa, but she took some shots (chicken pox, TB, and some other one that requires you to go 2 or 3 times). I was hoping she gets all shots documented in this Yellow Book as well, so there's no confusion when she sees a Civil Surgeon in US. Or in case she needs to show proof of vaccinations few years down the road

She lives in Shanghai, so that's why she did her K1 medical there.

so was the 400 rmb for the extra shots in shanghai, or just to transcribe a shot record?
