ds-230, NVC questions

so i sent in the i-1864 package but still had to wait to be billed for the ds-230. after i was billed i sent in the ds-230 application with the barcoded cover sheet. but about a day later (after it was sent but before they got it, still in mail) i got an email form NVC requesting the ds-230 and saying that i had to put that cover sheet on it. but it was already sent with the coversheet i printed after paying the bill. do you think i need to do anything with this new cover sheet? or it is just a fluke do to the length stuff was in the mail? also when those packages are approved is it correct that NVC then sends an email with the interview date, or send it snail mail? it usually is a wait around a month? i think that is what i see on most timelines. am hoping it's realistic to have the visa by mid june.

The email you received is called a false checklist, issued when the other package is reviewed (and accepted). So, call up NVC asap to confirm your AOS package was accepted!

There's nothing you need to do for the IV package. It should be reviewed shortly.

Yes, after the two packages are accepted, then NVC closes your case. It's then put into queue for an interview date to be scheduled. How you get the interview letter is up to you. If you gave over both email addresses to an operator when the case number was assigned, you'll get it by email. If not, then it'll arrive by snail mail, which might take awhile. Since you mentioned you get the checklist by email, I'm assuming you gave over both email addresses, so you should get the interview letter by email.

Very glad to know that Saylin...

Everything through email is so much more practical ( especially living here in Brazil where the mail system sucks )

Thanks so much!

thanks, i did call and they confirmed what you said. just waiting for that interview appointment!! getting excited.

Wait, so, they confirmed the AOS package was accepted, correct? What about the IV package?

You need a case complete first before an interview date can be assigned. Don't jump ahead of the process :P

well i figure if they sent me that first email saying they had reviewed my documents and didn't ask for anything more then the AOS must be fine. that was the only one i was worried about getting an RFE cause i had lots of sponsors and taxes and well just a lot of paper work. so far all of my papers have gone through fine without needing naythign additional. either way, now it;s a waiting game till they send me another email.
