And the consistent blame black folks for everything reflects the views of someone who can't help but point the finger at someone of color.

What does the failure of the criminal justice system and subsequent death of a baby have to do with people of color? Maybe they are/were white cops, judges, and prosecutors. Believe this - there are white leaders in black areas that care just as little about the black community as the black leaders in black areas LOL (I know that stuns you)

I didnt actually bother to look it up.

Every time someone says something about the failures of the criminal justice system you immediately jump out and start referencing people of color. I wonder why you feel the need/urge to do that? Could you be starting to believe the statistics or something?

like i said, laughable.

say, do you by chance know about the branches of government?

Why don't we learn together.

Let's say I have 4 weapons charges to go with my 36-charge rap sheet.

The first is a misdemeanor and the three subsequent are felonies. I never did time for any of them.

This is due to:

1. Prosecutor (DA is elected)

2. Judge (local judges are elected)

3. Cops (cops are not elected, they're the ones who arrested my gangsta a$$ in the first place)

4. Somebody in the community somehow "got me out of jail"

Best answer?

best answer would be 5. none of the above.

Why don't we learn together.

why don't we.seems like illinois is trying to learn a bit about the state of their prison system as well..

Again, here are a few of our questions:

Governor, there are almost 50,000 inmates in Illinois prisons. It’s an historic high. Nonetheless, you’ve closed prisons. Hasn’t that just exacerbated the overcrowding problem? Why isn’t the state bringing down the prison population first and then closing facilities?

Governor, your Department of Corrections has a new policy of housing men in gymnasiums at six facilities. The department insists this is a temporary fix, but the prison watchdog John Howard Association says there’s no public plan that will bring down the prison population anytime soon and, in fact, there’s good reason to think the population will continue to climb, so how can housing men in gyms possibly be a temporary fix?

Governor, I’ve heard horror stories about health care in prisons but the state has a more than $1.3 billion contract with a private health care company to do the work. What is the state doing to ensure that inmates are receiving the health care that taxpayers are paying for?

There are a lot of other issues to discuss: little education or training, overcrowded and dilapidated facilities, poor prospects for inmates who are released.

Gov. Quinn, we have questions WBEZ has asked the Illinois governor for months to explain his thinking on overcrowding and conditions in the state’s billion-dollar prison system.

I see. It is preferred for babies to die than prisoners who kill them to get poor health care or be too crowded. Thank you for the peek into a liberal mind.

My racism? I'm quite sure I or racism have nothing to do with the 36-rap sheet gangsta with the numerous weapons charges

True colors: (def) Taking the side of a poor, persecuted gang-banger to 'expose' racism. Exhibits the root of the whole problem

illinois has a billion dollar prison system that is not functioning to meet its capacity. if you read the article, questions have arisen regarding healthcare, because the state has a pretty sweet private contract - yet can't meet the mark. taxpayers want to know why.

and your perception that liberals prefer needless death and violence is your misunderstanding to keep. stew in the ignorance you've become accustomed to. enjoi!

Wow, I guess it was only a matter of time before all that racism you keep behind closed doors came busting out. Let me point this out so that there is no confusion why I am calling you a racist:

First, do you talk like this in real life? You only seem to use slang when I'm in the forum, even though I never talk like that. You can always tell who the racists are when they use out dated words like gat, gangsta, and gang banger. The proper terms would be heat, tool, chopper, nina, gang member, Piru, crip, and many others. You wrongfully assumed since I was black, I must listen to rap music, and I would be ok with other blacks having slaves. You can't seem to grasp the concept that I don't follow the stereotype that you really think that every single black person must adhere to. And I don't remember taking anyone's side, I pointed out that the legal system is broken if someone can commit 36 crimes and not get locked up, but I guess you would see it that way since it always falls back on the black person, no matter what it is.

Second, you can't seem to muster a single positive thing to say in regards to black people in general. This thread was about the murder rate dropping in Chicago, but you had to make sure people are reminded it won't last, in the integrated thread you said, that blacks only want to be inclusive when it benefits them, although no where in the the thread did it say that at all. Your hatred for us is duly noted.

The RWNJs never worry about taxpayer funds being wasted as long as they are wasted on private contracts. They can't draw the fairly straight line between the growing prison industrial complex that arose out of the privatization of prisons and the ever growing prison population. It's beyond their mental capacity.

Well here's the deal Marvin. I reference rap music as an example of a community's glorification of violence and you jump in every tme and include yourself in that community. Not once, ever, did I accuse YOU of liking rap music but since you choose over and over to bend over and identify yourself with the crime/murder/violence community that I do speak of then you must do so either (a) because of skin color or (b) because you support and stand for what that community supports and stands for. If it's (a) I view that as racism.

We are talking about chicago and murders. The 36-time-bandit is a resident of chicago and party to a recent highly covered murder. Since he's also black you don't want to talk at all about how the hell someone can play catch and release 36 times in the criminal justice system, nor do you want to talk about the murder, you want to talk about racism in Texas as if racism in Texas has anything to do with the murder of the child of a 36-time loser in Chicago.

Which part of it is actually relevent to Murders fall 42 percent in America's deadliest city: Chicago? A recent murder in chicago or racism in Texas?

blacks only want to be inclusive when it benefits them was actually said by someone else in that other thread. However, to one such as you, you just see words and you see white and what does it matter if you pin the words to me or to the one who actually said it huh? Is what I say or how I speak any different from what you did? We might both have a problem but in this thread we are talking about Chicago and you are quite well invited to discuss crime and violence in Texas and who is doing what in another thread if you want. I'll go over there and say my piece.

I also didnt say you are OK with blacks owning and selling slaves but I sure did accuse you of overlooking it and excusing it. Talking about the black people who captured and enslaved them and rounded them up for sale is unworthy of mention to you but you sure do want to talk about the white people who bought them all packaged neatly for shipment. I did accuse you of harping on one and ignoring the other because of their skin color. To you my bringing up enslavement of black africans by other black africans is racist. To me your overlooking it to concentrate on the white slave traders who bought them is also racist. To you my bringing up the statistics that the black community is responsible for violent crime at a rate 10-20 times that of the white community is racist. To me your implication that this issue is somehow due to need for more programs, more money, more opportunity from the white community rather than the choices of the individuals because the fault is not on the individuals at all while you fault the entire white community for the actions of those who have long since died and turned to dust is racist.

If my views are racist to you so be it. Your views that a discussion of a 36-time loser should be shelved to discuss white racism because the loser has black skin are just as racist to me.
