American woman gang raped in Brazil

Three men have been arrested for allegedly raping and robbing a foreign tourist on a minibus in Rio de Janeiro, according to police.

The woman was raped repeatedly over a six hour period in the minibus on Saturday morning, while her boyfriend was handcuffed and badly beaten.

"We got information about some of the places [the suspects] had been, based on bank receipts and transactions that they made," police deputy Alexandre Braga said of the arrests.

"They would alternate driving the vehicle, two would commit rape in the back of the van and the violence against the boyfriend of the victim," Brand said on Monday.

According to a police statement, the two victims were attacked as they road public transportation in a seaside neighbourhood of Rio de Janeiro.

The statement said assailants forced other passengers out of a shared van and then sexually assaulted the foreign woman inside the vehicle before driving her and her male companion to the poor suburban neighbourhood of Sao Goncalo.

The victims' nationalities have not been released, but local media reports have said the woman is American.

I can assure you as soon they send thEse guys to jail they willl be dead in 24hours.They are still in the police headquarters, but soon they will be transfered and in Brazil all jails state in a public board how many criminals were "found dead" every month.I worked as a prossecutor in Brazil for 10 years and i can assure no one single rapist is alive in the Brazilian jails.There is a "moral code" between the prisoners and they kill every rapist arriving there.!

Good catch! She may have brought this upon herself. Of course she was in a foreign country, so the usual suspects here will be appalled, but if it was right here in the good old US of A, they would twist it to make it her fault. Even more so if she was black.

See DDS and Davao city if you don't understand the comment. But that's just one one minor difference in my views from the two parties, and one that's probably not coming to America for a while yet.
