Hi everyone! I am a little confused here. I got married in November 2012 under my B2 tourist Visa. We applied for I485, I130, Travel document and Employment Authorization in early January, 2013. In March I got an update about my Travel Permission, that it had been approved and had been mailed on March 8th, but I haven't received it yet! On March 29th I got a letter from USCIS and I thought it was my Travel Permission but it was my appointment for interview! My Case Status for I485 is still ACCEPTANCE on line. I wonder if it is normal to get the interview appointment before the bio-metrics appointment and the Employment Authorization. We live in Fairbanks Alaska, and the appointment is in Anchorage on April 24th. My I485 is being processed at NBC. The I130 and Employment authorization status are still "Inicial review".

Thanks for the help!!

12/28/2011 We met in Buenos Aires while my husband was on vacation there.

04/17/2012 We met up in New York for 1 week vacation, and we came up to Alaska afterwards and I stayed 2 weeks.

07/22/2012 I came back to Alaska on vacation to stay one month, but never left.

11/10/2012 We got married. (After this I resigned my work and gave up my apartment in Buenos Aires, from Fairbanks)

01/02/2013 We mailed our file to USCIS -I-485, I-130, I-131 Travel Permission, I-765 Employment Authorization.

01/07/2013 Our I-130, I-131 and I-765 were accepted at Chicago Lockbox, while my I-485 was delivered to NBC.

01/14/2013 The I-485 was accepted at NBC.

03/08/2013 Update for I-131 ACCEPTED and mailed. -But never received until now 01-04-2013

03-29-2013 Received by mail appointment for USCIS Anchorage for April 24th. -My case status online is still ACCEPTANCE.

Whilst it is possible to receive an EAD without biometrics, it is quite rare.

As for an interview without biometrics, that is either a mistake or they sent you out a biometrics appointment and you did not receive it.

Ordinarily I would suggest making an Infopass appointment and asking an officer about it, but logistically that is going to be quite a trip for you. Instead, you may want to contact the USCIS misinformation line at 1-800-375-5283 and ask to speak to a tier 2 representative about this. Specifically, you may want to ask the tier 2 officer whether there have been any pieces of returned mail on any of your cases.

You cannot be approved without biometrics.

Thanks for the information! reading cases from other people I saw that in every case they received the biometrics appointment first. I will call right away, like you said Anchorage is far away to go for an infopass appointment. I was wondering if perhaps the appointment includes interview and biometrics? Thanks!!

Yeah I agree, that is a rare case to get interview info without biometrics. I got my EAD/Advance Parole in the mail-and when I went online they had actually provided the tracking number (post office) so incase I didn't get it I would make a follow-up. Maybe you need to call and see what is happening.

Woohoo I just got on the mail the biometrics appointment!! I am so excited! It is the same day as the interview at the same building in Anchorage, half an hour before the appointment. Thank you guys for responding to my post, I called this morning to USCIS and they told me they would call me back in the next 15 days. But a few hours later I got the letter on the mail with the appointment! :)
