Funny thing I check on Friday 8/02 on the USCIS website and it didn't have any updates regarding this.

Same here. No updates online whatsoever (it didn't even find our case number), but we got our ROC in just under 4 months without any issues.

Hi everyone, I haven't been here on while,I'm also an April filer, we sent the package April 15, it was received on April 17 but it was process until the 22. Did an early bio In june I will post the exact dates soon. Now we are just waiting like many here.

I was just worry because I felt that didn't sent enough but I haven't received an RFE which its always good.

Anyways I have a package already ready to send just in case, but I don't know if I should send it without an RFE

FYI of what I sent:

Bank statements

Credit cards statement

Tax return 2011 & 2012

Health Insurance from wife

Paystubs from wife and me

Checks of rents

Car insurance for both

Some random pictures

I believe that was it.

It seems to be hit and miss with different people having different experiences. In my case, I did get a text and email update when my card was mailed just a few days after my approval, but never got an update with the actual tracking number, and the online system didn't show a tracking number for me. My card arrived 2 days later, and later that day I got another text/email update saying my card had been delivered (which I knew already ). But other people have had updates all along, including a tracking number. In any event, they mail all new green cards Priority Mail with a tracking number (even if some people aren't given that in advance), so when you do get an update saying your card has been mailed, it's safe to assume it will be with you in 2-3 days' time regardless of whether you get another update with a tracking number or not.

Your evidence looks fine, as long as it covers the whole period of your marriage. A lot of people get RFEs because, even though they send in a lot of evidence, such evidence didn't span the whole period of the marriage and USCIS specifically asks for that. The only other big thing that you could have sent which you haven't mentioned is a lease in both names, but no item in itself is going to determine the outcome of the petition. For example, people here on VJ kept saying that, for tax returns, they prefer to see an official IRS transcript, or otherwise a photocopy with supporting documentation such as a W2 etc. And some people in the past have received RFEs because they didn't send in a W2 with their tax return copies. Well, guess what. When putting together our package, it completely slipped our minds to include my husband's W2 for 2012 (we had a transcript for 2011, but we had just filed taxes for 2012 so at that point we could only present a simple photocopy of out 2012 tax return). So I was mentally preparing for an RFE, but nope, they gave me a straight and quick approval.

In a nutshell, it will all depend on the breadth of evidence in your package as a whole, and also on the case officer looking at your case - some will be more laid back and will approve you if your overall package satisfies them, while others will be sticklers for rules and may RFE you for a minor thing. In any case, an RFE is not a bad thing even if you get one. It's just USCIS' way of saying "give us what we want to tick our boxes, and we'll approve you". The vast majority of applicants who get RFEs get an approval within a few weeks of sending in their response, and relatively few get a second RFE or an interview request.

Usually USCIS advises against sending in unsolicited additional evidence. I suspect they say it because they don't want to get inundated with extra documents that they have to match with existing files, and it probably slows them down too. It is up to you, but I'd probably take their advice, especially since April filers are starting to be adjudicated now, so you may hear in the coming weeks and you may get a straight approval. That being said, some people have sent in unsolicited extra evidence after the initial petition and before decision, and it didn't hurt their case in any way. It's hard to know of course whether it caused any delays in processing their file, which is actually quite possible. Ultimately it's up to you. Personally, I would sit back and wait for a decision because you may not even need to worry about an RFE in the end. You never know if you are ever going to get one until you get one, but this is what I would do personally - you may decide otherwise. Best of luck!

I would not send it...there is no need to as you have not got a response from USCIS. It is just needless at this point.

My wife lost her 1 year extension letter as well so I can't check it online...oh well it looks like we will find out either way sooner than later. Im very surprised people are getting approved already...good stuff!

The case number is on the biometrics appointment letter, not on the extension letter (I know there is a case number on there too, but it's not the right one). So if you still have the bio appointment letter, you can check the status online

YAY, I got no warning, got an email yesterday saying my Card is in production 08/05/13 and today i get my approval letter from my local office.

Can someone please update my timeline, approved 07/31/13, just waiting for my card.
