12/26/13 - 10-yr card rec'd!

One thing I have learned on this journey:

There is no such thing as an "overkill" evidence package. Submit anything and everything you can. Who knows what will prevent you from getting an RFE.

One thing I am still curious:

We mailed our application to CSC, but we receive bio appoinment from differenct service center: from VSC, does it mean our file has been transfer from CSC to VSC once it was received? Does uscis transfer files between two centers sometime?

I will make an infor pass appointment after 30 days if we still haven't received NOA1 letter.

No, my biometrics came from VSC as well. I think this is common and I'm sure it has happened to others (everyone?).

They don't often transfer files to other Service Centers, although it has happened before in cases when the workload in one Service Center was too heavy. I'm pretty sure if that was the case though, they would send a letter notifying you of such a transfer. If no such letter is sent, you can safely assume your case is still with CSC.

Hi everyone,

My husband became eligible to apply for ROC on 4/25/2013 and here is our current progress.

We have mailed out our I - 751 packet on 4/27 which arrived at the Vermont Service Center on 4/29. Our check cleared on 5/10 and I-797C NOA for a biometrics appointment for 6/12 arrived today (notice date 5/15).

We never received our first NOA letter and would like to find out if anyone has suggestions on how to recover that first NOA. Planning on calling the customer center on Monday but wasn't sure what else to do.

ROC timeline

Eligible to submit I - 751 on 4/25/2013 (GC expiring on 7/25/2013)

Mailed out I-751 on 4/27/13

i-751 arrived at Vermont Center on 4/29/13

Check cleared on 5/10/13

Biometrics appointment letter received on 5/18/13

Biometrics appointment date 6/12/13

Adding ssjl10701 to VSC.

Re not getting a NOA1, wait until it's been 30 days of filing and if you still haven't got it, call them for a follow up. Nothing else to do other than schedule an InfoPass appointment close to the green card expiration date to have your passport stamped with a 1 year extension of status (if NOA isn't received by then).

Yeah, I know what you mean, yet I will still talk to USCIS. Better than not doing anything. I'm not saying im leaving here for months. So I guess I should be okay somehow since my friend will be checking mails. I will go check ROC forum, too.

I'm sure this won't hurt but if they decide to interview you, they will send you an interview appointment letter, regardless of you notifying them that he will be deployed. I would be very nervous leaving the country for months, knowing that I might receive the letter while I'm abroad. Do you have any friends that can check your mail while you're away? I won't hurt to call USCIS either, but the people on the helpline are not trained to give advice in situations like this so I doubt they'll be very helpful. I suggest you post your situation in general ROC forum where more members (and more experienced ones) can see it and give you advice.

Received our biometric appointments on Friday. Bayaraa has her appointment on 06/06 and our son on the morning of the 7th. I wish that common sense was a little bit more common with USCIS as both could have been scheduled for the same day thereby saving us either a 6 hour round trip drive to the service center or a night in a hotel. Also will require an extra day off of work if we keep their schedule. Planning to just walk in early on a day that works with my schedule and see if we can get it done.

Most centers don't care if you go early, even a few days earlier, but I've heard that some centers are picky and won't let you enter the facility until the correct time. Getting there at 9 a.m. for an 11 a.m. should not be problem....Just in case, have a legitimate reason handy! :)

It completely depends on the center how they handle these schedules and how busy they are. Look at my post I posted couple of days ago (Below)

Hey everyone

My original appointment schedule was for 5/29/2013.

So, I went for early Bio today morning. Told them that I will need to travel due to my work during the scheduled date. It was kind of busy at 8:00 AM. They asked me to go back at around 2/3 PM. I went at 3:00 PM. The ASC was literally empty. They took me in. I was out of the door in 3-4 minutes.

Everyone was nice and welcoming, different from what I expected.

F2A/IR1 Journey (for wifey):

USCIS/I-30:

NOA-1: June 29, 2015

NOA-2: August 11, 2015

NVC:

NVC Received: August 21, 2015 (Called NVC 10/14/2015)

Case # Assigned: August 24, 2015
