Updating Paul Elizabeth's bio. Not sure what happens if you do early biometrics - I assume they would still stamp, date and sign your bio appointment letter (that's what they did with mine, but I did go on the day and time of my original appointment).

Hello again. I just want to thank everyone for answering my questions! The good news is that my NOA1 came and a week later my biometric appointment letter came too! So thats pretty awesome :-).

Hi,

I received NOA letter (I-797C) today dated 5/13/2013 , It informs a biometrics appointment on 06/03/2013.

I haven't got any NOA1 letter so far. I filed and mailed on April. 22 to CSC, but received this biometrics appoiment letter VSC. Is it weird?

Updating jlmiit's bio. Getting a bio appointment letter but not a NOA1 is not unheard of. It happens to people from time to time. You do want your NOA1 though as it serves as your proof of your 1 year status extension once your green card expires. So I suggest calling USCIS if you still haven't received it in 30 days of filing, and to be sure, make an InfoPass appointment and have your passport stamped.

So, I went for early Bio today morning. Told them that I will need to travel due to my work during the scheduled date. It was kind of busy at 8:00 AM. They asked me to go back at around 2/3 PM. I went at 3:00 PM. The ASC was literally empty. They took me in. I was out of the door in 3-4 minutes.

Everyone was nice and welcoming, different from what I expected.

Thank you Christi85 for your valuable suggestions;)

One thing I am still curious:

We mailed our application to CSC, but we receive bio appoinment from differenct service center: from VSC, does it mean our file has been transfer from CSC to VSC once it was received? Does uscis transfer files between two centers sometime?

I will make an infor pass appointment after 30 days if we still haven't received NOA1 letter.

Thank you, DNIEPU for advice. My husband wrote a letter to USCIS and we included his official deployement order along with I-751 when we filed, so I hope they noted his deployement information. I will call USCIS to let them know our situation.. and see what happens. :))

I'm sure this won't hurt but if they decide to interview you, they will send you an interview appointment letter, regardless of you notifying them that he will be deployed. I would be very nervous leaving the country for months, knowing that I might receive the letter while I'm abroad. Do you have any friends that can check your mail while you're away? I won't hurt to call USCIS either, but the people on the helpline are not trained to give advice in situations like this so I doubt they'll be very helpful. I suggest you post your situation in general ROC forum where more members (and more experienced ones) can see it and give you advice.
