So you got your NOA1 in the mail today? and ur check was cashed today as well? I thought they would cash the check first and then mail the NOA1 later on

I too received my NOA1 letter on the same day they cashed my check. The date on the NOA1 though was 5 days before I received it in the mail, so it must have just been a coincidence that the two things happened the same day. It seems though they often issue the letter before they cash the check.

Seems like Vermont is on its normal timeline. California on the other hand has been stalling surprisingly bad

Yes, i got my NOA 1 yesterday and my check was cashed yesterday, as well, although i think sometimes it's different when it will show a cashed check on a bank statement, depending on the bank and how fast they process it.

So...it seems as if I am the visa jinx here. When I filed an I-130 on my wife's behalf a few years ago, it was a huge fiasco and our files were sent from CSC to TSC because of a backlog at CSC. TSC proceeded to not know how to process I-130s and confusion ensued for all of us. Now it seems as if something is happening (or not happening?) at CSC, I guess I should have warned you all that I was filing this month. Hey...look at the bright side, we are all with our SO this time!

7/2/10- NOA1

2/9/11- NOA2 (transferred to Texas)

NVC

2/28/11- case number received

3/2/11- Paid AOS bill

3/5/11- Paid IV bill

3/12/11- expedite to Bogota consulate approved!!!

3/14/11- left NVC to Bogota for further processing

3/17/11- received by Bogota, emailed consulate and was told to send DS-230 and DS-2100 (packet 3)

3/18/11- packet 3 emailed to Bogota consulate, email confirmation on March 23

3/31/11- Interview date! Approved!!!!!!

Keep the faith, everything works out for the very best

Hi guys!

I'm posting for the first time here but not new to this board. My husband and me had went through an attorney to get my Conditional Green Card and have decided this time to do it ourselves. So I have participated by adding my own info. I just mailed it today as an overnight (can't risk it) so I should know by tomorrow if they received it.

ROC Journey:

4/24/13 - Submitted I-751 application

4/26/13 - I-751 officially filed

6/11/13 - Biometrics done

8/14/13 - Rec'd RFE

9/21/13 - Submitted RFE response

9/23/13 - RFE response rec'd at VSC

(about 2 months later)

11/21/13 - Service request via Tier 1 submitted

12/11/13 - Response to service request rec'd - vague info about processing times

12/12/13 - Service request via Tier 2 submitted

12/10/13 - APPROVED!!! (letter rec'd 12/14/13)

12/16/13 - 2nd Service request response rec'd

12/17/13 - Card production email/text rec'd (online case updated)!

12/24/13 - Notification rec'd via email regarding card mailed on 12/23/13 (online case updated as well)

12/26/13 - 10-yr card rec'd!

One thing I have learned on this journey:

There is no such thing as an "overkill" evidence package. Submit anything and everything you can. Who knows what will prevent you from getting an RFE.

Nah...nobody is a jinx :bonk: . It seems like those backlogs are pretty common with USCIS. When we filed I-130 at the London Consulate (hubby and I were living there at the time), the normal processing time for I-130 petitions in London was around 6 weeks. Shortly after we filed it increased to 3-4 months: our I-130 approval letter came in at just under 3 months. After we were done with the whole process, things got even worse for new filers, as the processing time increased even further and the Consulate even issued an announcement urging people planning to file for CR-1/IR-1 to do so at least 10 months ahead of their intended moving date. No idea how things are over there now.

But it goes to show that backlogs are actually fairly common.

The good news is, they are actually able to clear 4-5 months' worth of backlog within a month or so, so we should expect mass approvals at some point in the coming months.

It still bugs me though that CSC isn't in any rush to send people their NOA1s when they have been consistently quick up until now on that stage. If anything, this is an important document that people need to be able to prove their continued right to work and travel abroad if need be, plus it's just a template that doesn't require any actual adjudication on the file. I'd say, if 30 days goes by and people still haven't received their NOA1s (since NOA1s are supposed to be sent within 30 days of filing), you have every right to complain to them and start bugging them.

Oh it looks like you filed in London around the same time I did : it took me 8 months to get my approval! And I expected 2-3... Lets hope it won't be that bad this time- but I really don't care so much now that I'm here - at least we are together and I don't have to put my whole life on hold:)
