I feel you. I'm also a CSC late July filer.

Ranting can feel good, and sometimes you just need to vent to people who somewhat understand what is going on (unlike many family and friends who a simple, "Why haven't you heard anything?" turns into a 20 minute discussion about the process with their eyes glazing over). At times it is the only thing we can do to try and stay sane when faced with the uncertainty that lies ahead, though some people on here don't seem to understand that. (And it definitely doesn't help when people who were approved A LOT faster tell you to "just be patient" or to "use the time productively." It is easy to tell someone else that when they are not in the same situation, and it is rather condescending to assume that we are not already being proactive and doing what we can to prepare for the day we do receive our NOA2.)

Hopefully we here some good news soon!

Ohhh I definitely feel you. Thank God my family is in full support and they don't ask things to make me uncomfortable. The problem is my friends and coworkers. It's almost 1,000 times I explain to them what a fiance visa is. And they are just not getting tired of asking "When are you getting married??"

"Why does it take soooo long??"

"Why doesn't he visit again???"

Or even stupider questions like :

"You're being too complicated. Just get a tourist visa and get married there! My cousin did that." - Yeah her cousin did that like..30 years a go. I was not even born yet!!! Things changed, guys. :bonk:

"Why not go to school there and then get married? "

It's just.... :help:

Oh I am sorry, that's bad.

In your situation I think I would get married and file for Spousal Visa.

OMG that drives me insane. I can't even count how many people I know who have tried to *solve* my problem with their suggestions. "Why doesn't he just come here as a tourist and then get married?" or "Why don't you go there and get married and then he can come back with you?" It takes almost everything in me to keep from saying, "OMG!!!!! WOW!!! GREAT IDEA! Seriously, you are a genius! Why didn't I think of that?! Thank you so much!! I'm going to call him right now and let him know!"

Oh I am so sorry to hear that... Are you starting over on K1 or CR1? I think CR1 is better opt than K1.

OMG that drives me insane. I can't even count how many people I know who have tried to *solve* my problem with their suggestions. This made my day! It's so good to hear that I am not alone . But I am sorry that we have to deal with this. But still... Ahahahaha.. laughing is good. No offense. This is exactly what happens to me. I have to clench my fists and repeat this line in my head..."whoooosahhh...calm down Agnetta...."

I just don't understand how managment at uscis can function on a daily basis knowing that they put on hold lives of thousands of people. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing that my work from July and August LAST YEAR is still not done! We are not just some projects or case numbers, we are living people who want to have a feeling of control of their lives, have children that they need to plan for, houses to buy and sell, illnesses we need to deal with. Everybody understood the situation we will be in when upon filing fiancee petition, everybody was prepared to wait but what csc is doing with us is just happily taking the advantage of their position. My kid keeps asking - when, and I have no answer for him. So sad...

I was looking at cases on UCIS and Igor's list and from what I can see California seems to have I-130's prioritized right now. It seems that they go through phases of having different ones as a priority. I think that when they get I-130's back within the 5 month goal they will turn their attention to us. I think we may still have about a nine month wait though.

I really hope you are right. It is hard to estimate though. I could imagine CSC either start working on our petitions really soon or delay it by a few more months, even up to a year. After getting disappointed so many times throughout the last two months I am holding to only one idea that's certain - they WILL eventually start approving our petitions! I am just curious whether such a long waiting period has happened ever before in the previous years or is it unprecedenced. If it had happened before than it's worth checking how long people had been waiting for back then.

I think it has happened before. Last year when we filed our petition, it was Vermont that was way behind and I was happy mine was at California. If you look on Igor's list at the petitions approved for each month for the I-130's you will see that CSC is streets ahead of vermont. Looking at the USCIS charts, there are high's and low's but where there is a low for I-129's there seems to be a high for I-130's. They obviously receive far more of these petitions than K1's which is why it takes so long to catch up on them when they have been left to fall behind.

I don't know why but I actually feel confident that this is a temporary situation and things are about to change. I would like to say I think we will see an improvement within the next two to three weeks, just past the middle of the month probably. I would love to be right for a change! lol

Did your congressman ever send you any message back? We contacted ours 11 days ago and haven't heard anything back.

Nothing at all from the congressman. Greg is going to try call this week but he is running around all over the ranch fixing fences, building animal pens and planting the vegetables. Although I wish he had more time to chase our application, the ranch has to take priority as this will provide our main source of income.

Fingers crossed we start to see movement. A July filer from Vermont with an RFE has been approved today so would be good to see a few California ones go through after such a slow week last week.
