Do Visa waiting times depend on the country?

Hello Everyone! I was just wondering if the wait times for NOA2 have anything to do with what country your beneficiary is from? Or is it just the luck of the draw on who's gets processed faster? I have recently filed and just from looking around and seeing people's comments some have waited longer than others...Just wondering. I am already starting to get anxious and keep saying to myself "If we filed when we first started talking about this in August, it would almost be over!" But you have to have the $$$ so it had to wait.

Anyhoo, thanks to everyone who posts here..this is an awesome site with a wealth of information!

hello,

i dont think it has anything to do with what country your spouse is from.

most of the times it matters which service center because some are busier than the others and first in first look too. also how long it takes to get any background checks too.

we filed oct 29 2010 and it took us 8 months to get approved.

so just be patient and pray....lol

Moved from K-1 process to general forums as this is a general visa time question.

Nope, doesn't matter for the NOA2, matters as far as AP though. Welcome to the site and best of luck on your journey! Patience is the word!

It has nothing to do with country, if that was the case we would be processed quickly as we have an average of only less than 20 K-1's a month filed.

What are your thoughts on the amount of travel the petitioner or fiancé have on the processing time? I traveled to over 25 countries in the last 10 years and my fiancé works for an airline and has traveled to even more destinations. Do you think this draws out our processing at all?

Hmmm. I could see how they might take that into consideration, but working for an airline that would be expected . I just noticed when I made copies of my passport that the last 2 trips I made to Jamaica were not stamped in there... The only stamps were when I returned to the states . I was worried that might look suspicious.

In any case I guess you just never know how one person will view your case. While most people have true intentions and are truly in love, thanks to the people that try to defraud the system it makes the process that much harder. (Sigh)
