Has anyone actually been able to pay for the Visa online through the Citic Bank website? We have been trying all day and have failed. I don't know what the problem is....pretty frustrating. It gets all the way to putting in the debit card number and pin number and finally says contact the bank. I then tried another card and still didn't work. They were both China Construction Bank accounts and my fiance even called them to make sure the card was valid.

Our other inconvenient option is to go to the bank. We live 4 hours away from the nearest bank. Seems silly to have to drive 4 hours to the bank. We have friends who live near the bank, but I read the fiance needs her passport with her when SHE goes. I'm guessing a friend couldn't do this for her.

Any advice would be helpful...

Also, would it be possible if we mailed a friend in Guangzhou my fiance's passport and this friend paid for us using her passport? My fiance can't travel for another 4-5 days.

Also, does it have to be the fiance or could I do it myself? I could travel tomorrow if needed.

I'm just exploring all of the different options to pay the quickest way.
