Hey all,

Submitted my AOS paperwork on Dec 31st, 2012. Did the biometrics on Jan 23rd 2013. We ran into some issues financially and needed a co-sponsor. The co-sponsor information was mailed in around February 25th 2013.

I checked online a couple days ago and it says our case is in testing and interview stage. I am confused about the next steps in the process.

Do I have to wait for an interview date before I get my EAD card or will the EAD card come before that. I also called the help line and the lady requested a receipt number so she could look up the EAD card status. The thing is, since we started the process all of the correspondence received only had one receipt number, which references our case. How can I find out more about the EAD card? I only ask because I landed a job starting in June and I was just wondering time wise.

Thanks All

You might get your interview letter and even your greencard before your EAD but not necessarily, they are separate processes.

Mine came the day after I received my greencard

You will probably get EAD before June

Mine took 68 days .

Like it was stated above, you might get your GC before your EAD/AP because they are different processes. My card was approved in 61 days (and like a month and a half later I got my GC)but I received 3 different letters of acceptance with 3 different receipt numbers(EAD/AP/AOS) That's what I find strange about your case...did you send everything in the same envelope? If on your NOA1 the EAD is not mentioned, I would call them again and see if they can tell you what's going on.
