Thanks Saylin! I just called NVC. And he told me that NVC doesn't need the Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) and that my husband would need to take the PCC with him at the time of his interview. I asked him again to make sure and that's what he said. I asked him if he would send the original back, and he said that the husband can just take a copy of the PCC with him to the interview. Is this correct? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Why do you need the PCC after the interview ? For other US Consulates/Embassies IV Unit, the original PCC is kept, no one needs another or even a copy after the interview.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Hey I just tried to open it again and now it gives me good one. I tried in Firefox as well as IE. In both, it's working fine. It looks like it was NVC receipt page problem. Thank you guys for ur efforts and suggestions.

we've heard of that before, prior monthly threads. it's not common, though .

Yes, exactly. That's what I was confused about. If NVC didn't need it, then why is it on their website as one of the required documents? In either case, they have the PCC. If they don't need it, will they send it over to the consulate after a case complete? I also looked at the other forum for India and a lot of people said it's specific by US Embassies and the one for Mumbai, India- wants it at the time of the interview. I am going to call NVC again tomorrow to see if I can get a hold of another person to make sure they are saying the same thing. But I had asked him 2-3 times and he said NVC does not need it and that his IV package is complete. So confusing

what, exactly? i think you are confused.

NVC asks for it, it's part of the doc intake process. Don't have it or don't want to send it with the DS-230 ? That's ok, must to bring on interview day.

AFTER THE INTERVIEW, there is no reason for the beneficiary to keep it, the original PCC goes with the casefile (not the beneficiary).

Sorry, I think I am confused  lol.

The reason I was asking was because they had sent me a checklist about the PCC today, when yesterday they told me the IV package was complete and accepted.

I wasn't talking about AFTER the interview. I see that it's part of the doc intake process and they said bring it ON THE DAY of interview. Maybe that's what NVC meant when he said that they don't need the PCC.

Thank you for the reply Darnell! My AOS should be delivered to them tomorrow, so I'm just hoping to get a case complete soon.

ya, you got a checklist on the PCC cause it's not in the casefile. standard procedure.

If the IV set was actually added to the casefile , that's cool.

I dunno, it smells like what you really need is a waiver of PCC during NVC doc intake (easy to get via email or telephone) and in the interview letter, it'll list this document .

I dunno though, it might pop up again during final review process, after case complete timetick, so be warned.

I think at this point, you'd be lucky to get late May. It'll be more likely for a June interview.

Thank you Saylin :-)

Hubby called and talked to our Supervisor at NVC and she hasn’t heard back yet from the “specialist” who is now working on our case.

She asked him to call back Friday.

Today I received a checklist from the NVC for my IV fee.

I am waiting to pay this as I accepted a new job and between moving and delay of my first paycheck, I am low on funds.

Is this normal? Should I contact the NVC?

I am the petitioner.

You can delay this part of the process for up to a year. Don't worry, there's time.
