Mady, there's a queue at each step at NVC. Remember that please.

Also, queue times vary, even in the same step, over time.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

so what does that mean, for you, for today ?

The queue is longer for this part, today.

and apparently 3 days ago, as well.

Queues suck, but queues abound here at NVC.

Pray for speed, on the next queue thingie.

hey salin , nvc still didn't review the Iv package although it appears on their systems for 3 days now .. am worried cuz most ppl get their iv packages approved the day it appears in their systems , any idea ??

Like Darnell said, queue times vary, every single day. What took 1 week for one person can take 2 weeks for someone else on other days.

Just keep calling once or twice a day.

wat a waste of time!

You do realise you're not the only person at NVC, right? There are THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of people going through NVC and it takes time for things to get processed. You need to learn patience, and quick. And remember, you're doing this for your spouse... won't the wait be worth it?

Hi Saylin,

Not that I am in a rush, but I was calling today to see where our case is, given that it's been 2 weeks since NOA2. I realize that most cases from NBC take around a month to get case number assigned, and most here on VJ that were approved around that date didn't get to NVC yet. So, I adjusted my expectations accordingly.

But, then I read on this thread that we can call USCIC to find out when our case left USCIS, and to actually talk to multiple ISOs to confirm the info. So, today I first called NVC, and after some 20 min found out that the case is not there yet. Then I called USCIS, and after another 40 min wait the ISO tells me that 1) it was probably sent right after approval, 2) it might be still in transit (which just sounds like a funny phrase to use - what, do they use carriages?!), and that 3) they would not have the in-depth information in their system on when the case left USCIS, not even 4) when it was transferred to the local office for approval.

All of those I know that people were able to find out about, but I didn't see the point of trying to argue with him on that.

Now, I know misinformation is common from these calls, and I guess that's why you suggested talking to 5 people for confirmation, but this guy sounded as clueless as a CSR would be.

So, are there "magic words" to ask to find this info? :)

Or should I just call again and hope for another ISO?

Hi Mady, I'm just curious behind the logic of how AOS & IV from review to entering to system since you in this limbo  . Basiclly what I have learn or read is....they received our documents >>> scan bar code of cover letter " now doesn't this entered our case to their system? just curious." >>> they will review them page by page >> go back to computer send enter accept or RFE? is this how it work?.

For me the ISO's all said it was shipped and one even opened a service request. Just because the NVC says its not there. Doesn't mean it's not in the mail room. I got a reply 3 weeks after about my service request. The USCIS said my case was shipped to the NVC on 2/17 but the NVC didn't say they received it to 3/11.

I'd suggest calling up again and requesting to speak with a Tier 2. Most of the time, Tiers 1 don't give out useful information headbonk.gif

Mady, Think of it this way. Its an office and people do things differently but in the end its the same. Maybe "Mary" gets a stack of files and scans all the bar codes before she starts on them. So all the cases show in the system. Even if she has not looked at them yet. Then maybe "Fred" Looks and reviews the file. Then scans it and marks it completed. That would explain why some show for days and others go from not showing / just showed that day to completed.... Just a thought

I'm feeling a bit confused at this moment!

I paid the AOS fee by money order and when I login to the payment portal it says PAID but I am not able to print out any receipts or cover sheets. I've read in other posts that have been dated between 2006-2010 that if we pay through money order we cannot print it online and have to wait for snail mail to come in, is that still the case? I ask because I called NVC and they told me since I am EP I don't have to print out anything on portal and I can just email the I-864 form but looking at Saylin's Wiki EP it says that I have to print it out and email it with the documents.

Saylin, what do you think? Shouldn't I get an email from NVC informing me that my AOS fee has been received?

Thanks!
