Receipts sent in with the tax return to write off certain expenses and forms from employers, etc.

I'm using transcripts from 2011 and 2010, though. But I just cannot get a transcript from 2012 so I'm using the tax return.

Yeah, I say send them in, just in case.

For the interview though, try to have the transcripts for 2012. You should have enough time.

I may be jumping the gun here, given how NVC is yet to receive our case, but can someone please tell me where do we mail the AOS packet? I've seen this address on VJ:

National Visa Center

ATTN: CMR AOS

31 Rochester Ave. Suite 100

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

But I've also seen one with 32 street number and different zip code (last 4-digits). Are we supposed to find this address somewhere on the USCIS website, or is it listed on the bar-coded coversheet we print out after paying, or do they send the mailing info when they email us AOS invoice...?

I am just curious where/when NVC actually tells us the mailing address.

It's listed on the barcode sheet you'll print out after paying the fee.

Like oohpartiv said, the address will be on the bar-coded cover sheet (which is available as soon as you pay the bill) and that will be the most up to date address.

ok I called back and this woman was nicer but I still don't understand. She says she can see that the Visa Application was recieved but that the civil documents have not been reviewed. I am thinking this is the DS-230 which I included the civil documents with this so why wouldn't it all be reviewed together. She said she can see the file was requested but that is all. She said to call back monday maybe they would have more information. I have such an uneasy feeling. The AOS was approved with no issues I just want to know if something is not what they need so I can get it if that is the issue.

It could just be that they've only gotten the form reviewed so far, but haven't reviewed the civil documents yet.

Call back later tonight, in like 11 hours, right before they close, and see if they've finished the complete review.

Just because the AOS is accepted at NVC does NOT mean it will be accepted at the embassy. If you're not making enough for 2012, then you'll need a sponsor. Try to find one now and get all the documents gathered before the interview.

Okay, I have a sponsor lined up but I thought they would be more concerned with current income which is enough.

Thanks Saylin.

So you were under for 2012 but over currently? That might make some difference then. How much under were you and how much over are you now?

I'd still suggest getting a sponsor lined up and gather all the documents for the interview. If they don't say anything about needing a sponsor, then your sponsor is off the hook ;) If they do want a sponsor, you can then produce the documents and saving you time :)

According to today's email they've received and are adding the AOS package to the case. I hope for a quick case complete. :) I think the only thing that may need a bunch of review is my 18 moves. But sometimes I was back at my moms for a month or two before moving somewhere else but I put it down as I used it as a base address in BC when I was between college years.

Hubs received a tax extension and wants to do them after I'm there. I assume I should bring confirmation of that to the interview. Does a week sound like enough time for more real or should I make it a week and a half? I do not want to get my medical results too late but its an expensive ticket. However hotels can be pricey too, I worry about the costs of it all.

Our case was complete on April 5 and then I asked for an expedite on April 8 because it is taking forever for others to get an interview date at the Ecuador consulate. NVC said they forwarded the request to the consulate on April 9. Will I get an e-mail when the expedite is approved or not approved or do I need to keep calling NVC.

I think most others have reported back saying they got an email, but I could be wrong. Regardless, please report back to let us know what happens!

Yay for progress. I'm not sure how much review they put into residences. They may simply just check it against the G-325A and make sure you've submitted all required police certificates.

Yes, definitely bring the extension letter as they'll be wanting 2012 tax information. I'd suggest bringing 2012 W2s as well for the interview.

If you're doing the medical and interview in Montreal, a week should be enough. Get the medical done the first day you're there. Results are typically ready in 3 business days. You'll have to wait until you get an interview date though to decide on how long you need (like if the interview is on a Monday, you'll need to have the medical done almost a week ahead of time, on the previous Tuesday, with a weekend "wasted", compared to an interview being on Friday and the medical then just being on a Monday, no weekend "wasted").

NVC should email you a response, after they receive the response back from the consulate. Calling will be faster though as emails can be delayed by quite a number of days.

In 2012, I'm about $5k under. Because of my job, I'm allowed to get Unemployment. If I combined my unemployment with my work wages, I will be over the requirement.

However, with the pay stubs I have now, I am about $6k over requirement. I would like to not use a sponsor if I don't have to. :help:
