Is it just me or is it the closer we get to the end the slowly the days go and the longer it SEEMS to take (even though it's usually faster)???? It's just been a bit over a week since AoS and IV packages were received but every time I call and get "no I'm sorry it doesn't look like it's been reviewed yet because it is not showing in the system" it is like a punch in the gut and kick in the teeth. In all honesty I'm just ready to be DONE if I had to wait 3 months for my husband to move I would find a way to accept that if I just didn't have to worry about forms, calls, copies, taxes...OMG the NVC DRAMA!!! haha

I just want to wash my hands of it and sit back and help others...just don't want to have to worry anymore! This process is making me OLD! Anyone else???

But then I also have this stressing me more than it should, but this woman delivered my 4th child in my home...it creates a bond! She hired a lawyer and filed for a fiancé visa back in Sept. and is still on "initial review" She had planned a double wedding with her sister the end of May but that's not happening now obviously. Her lawyer told her that fiancé visas go through MUCH faster than spouse. She said "good luck to you" when I told her our plan. I submitted I-130 end of January and approved beginning of March. She was not happy to say the least. I keep telling her come join VJ and she looks and then does nothing "well my lawyer will get us through." I want to scream REALLY what has he done this far.

So I finally told her this;

You can tell me to butt out but just a thought...if you're still stuck in the initial review stage, if possible withdraw your fiance visa petition. Have him come over in May get married as you planned with your sister and then refile with the I-130 spouse visa. Here's a link to someone's timeline who has done it, from Nigeria too (I think that's where you said he was from). I have seen a few others from Nigeria too in the same timeframe little over 6 months. Of course it means starting over and no guarantee they would let him in, in May with a pending visa, but just thought I'd pass some info on that I saw.

Her reply;

Wow - that's an interesting idea. I'll ask my attorney what he thinks of this plan! It would be nice for him not to have to miss the wedding, too. Thanks for thinking of us, and helping me strategize!

Moral of the story you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink!!!! Even giving someone the resources to help them be reunited doesn't mean they will listen. This woman has 3 college degrees to my one and is putting all her choices in the hands of a lawyer whom I'm sure is LOVING the fact this is taking so long.

Nope, the AVR was taken down early last year. You can only talk to a person now.

Saylin,

Would the below also work for Mexico too? I have an MEP case # and will be doing EP.

1. Once the case number is assigned, on the SAME call, do the following: get the case number, get the IIN, get the BIN, give over both email addresses

2. Send the optin email (if you wish to do EP)

3. Try logging onto the payment portal, once you can, pay the AOS bill

3. Try logging onto the online forms portal, once you can, fill out the DS-261

4. Once the IV bill has been invoiced (based on acceptance of DS-261), pay the IV bill

5. Once AOS is showing as paid and optin email has been accepted, send the AOS package

6. Once IV is showing as paid and optin email has been accepted, send the IV package and fill out the DS-260 online

7. Respond to any checklists

Thanks!

Receipts of what?

Typically, everything that was sent to the IRS has to be sent to NVC if you're not using tax transcripts.

Receipts sent in with the tax return to write off certain expenses and forms from employers, etc.

I'm using transcripts from 2011 and 2010, though. But I just cannot get a transcript from 2012 so I'm using the tax return.
