Is it still safe to send in an I-864 for my joint sponsor with 2011/2010/2009 tax transcripts or should I wait the few extra days to get a 2012 tax transcript from him?

It's safe to send it in, but

study a calendar.

Think a bit ? When will NVC actually review it, if sent in today or tomorrow?

Most likely past the 15th o April, so that pegs the next taxyear (2012).

Plan accordingly, aye?

The bit that makes the 'final' difference is the interview date. That I-864 in front of the IO ? if interview date is past the 15th o April, must have 2012 taxyear stuff.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

If her mailing address was still home while at college, then I'd use that address. The fact that you call home home and not her college home, that sorta indicates something ;) Plus, you'll be staying consistent.

Just talked to my wife and she told me that during the time she studied in the other city, she notified her local province that she would be absent from her parent's home. Now I guess we have to include it in question 30 . She told me that when she went home, she never went to the government office to update the time she were back home. So technically the govt only has record of her staying at the college address during the 4 years she was there, not the time she was at home. She only went to the government office to notify her temporary stay was over after graduation .

I didn't include this college address in my G-325A since the Vietnamese government only considers her parent's home to be her permanent resident and the college address was only the temporary resident.

So on form DS-230, I will list her location during university but in the G-325A, I did not list her address during university (since the G-325A was not very clear, they just said "residence", which I thought to be permanent residence). Will this be a problem ? I want to stay consistent but now that my wife explained it like that, I will have to list this duration in the DS-230, otherwise it would mean I am hiding this information.

I am currently living in Singapore with my wife. She's from Vietnam. My question is that whether I can make the NVC processes my case without the Singapore Police Certificate and issues me a checklist, which then I will use to apply for an appeal to get the Certificate and bring it to interview.

Has anybody had any issues obtaining a Police Certificate without some kinds of requesting letter from NVC before ? How did you proceed ? Can you ask the NVC to just ship the case to the US Embassy and bring the Police Certificate later to the interview ?

For my case, we got checklist for Singapore COC. We requested to get it with NVC checklist.

it took 10 business days.

Thanks arriyan, that's what we will do. By the way, could somebody please answer or have some experiences with this to share with me ?

Hi. I have the same question as you. I also did not include my college residence in the G325, but now that I filled in the D230 since it said "six months" I decided to include it. Honestly I dont think it´s anything to be worried about since it can easily be explained.

I'm the beneficiary.

Ah ok, thanks for sharing. Yeah I guess I will do that since it's harder to explain if I don't include that on my wife's DS-230.

For the one in the form G-325A, if they ask about it, I will just explained that I misunderstood the question and put only the permanent resident address (during the time in college, her permanent address was still her parent's home address, the college address was only considered temporary address).

Hey Guys,

I'm new to these forums but have a read and benefited a lot from all the info, so thanks! I'm just starting the NVC process now (as petitioner) and had a quick question about Choice of Agent. I'm living abroad in Lebanon with my spouse until her visa is ready. We have a really unreliable mail system out here, so I was wondering if I should use my fathers info and permanent address in the states for Choice of Agent. At the same time I was told by the NVC rep on the phone that all correspondence from them will be through email, so perhaps the bad mail system here would be irrelevant. Mailing the major remaining forms out from here will be fine since I can just send FedEx.

So my questions are

1) Is it important for the Agent we choose have a reliable, quick snail mail location (like the US)?

2) If I did use my father, would he then have to act on each form and in each communication with NVC from here on out? Or could we just use his address and continue handling the details ourselves?

I'm leaning towards just making myself her Agent and hoping we don't have to receive snail mail, but just thought I'd ask before sending in the DS-3032 email.

Thanks!!

I don't know all the answers but I have a lawyer as my choice of agent and I still call the NVC and check on things. When the NVC emailed the bills for the AOS and IV it went to the lawyer, My husband and me (USC).

It is so nerve wracking waiting on the NVC to review the packages. Not because I'm wanting to them to hurry, but because it's been too easy thus far and I'm kinda expecting a problem.

After reading stuff I have a feeling that the website that I filed my taxes with told me wrong when filing (told me head of house since I have children and a spouse not living here with no SSN that the IRS wouldn't accept my taxes otherwise but all I'm reading here says should have filed married SOMETHING). So I'm expecting them to tell me I have to file an addendum, but praying they don't look that closely since my other two years are married jointly with my ex-husband and we have a co-sponsor. One can pray right?! But I'm ready if they need it amended, I just want to know so I can get to work on it.

PLUS my husband's police cert is not the LONG version though he has one ordered because he knows it's needed for his medical so I'm waiting to see if they need that too. Though as soon as he gets it (getting 2 copies) he is mailing one to me just in case.

The wait is torture and I just want to know what/if anything they need me to fix or resend. I didn't have the tax transcripts either but I have those now too. Ready for NVC if requested, if not husband will be taking them to the interview. The anxiety is just a killer!!!!
