In my opinion they should be colour. They're supposed to be an accurate representation of the actual document. A grayscale or black and white looks like a photocopy to me. But maybe someone else has a different idea. I scanned mine in colour and used adobe acrobat to reduce the file size after I had everything together in the same PDF.

it's yer choice, really. you need to concern with file size, for the email attachments.

the sweet spot is 10 megabytes per email, but some folk report 20 megabytes also is ok.

hey saylin....hope u'll help me clear this doubt of mine....I've the same situation like Angeljay referred to....My husband's joint sponsors are my parents....we had filed I-864 from me; I-864A from my dad & I-864A from my mom....and NVC had accepted our AOS packet without any questions asked....I was wondering whether I should do an I-864 from my dad also as his is main parent sponsor...just in case....what are the chances that they will ask for it during the interview?

IMO, the father-in-law should have filed an I-864 (same as the petitioner) and then the mother-in-law file an I-864A. You can bring a filled out I-864 from the father-in-law, but the embassy might not have any issues with the I-864A. If you do bring it, don't present it unless requested.

That's the problem, we only have 1 original and we already sent it.

Get a supervisor review. It typically takes a few days. In the meantime, get another copy of the certificate from the issuing agency. If for some reason NVC actually lost your document, ask for your case to be completed anyways and you'll bring the new original to the interview.

It's been 13 working days since my IV packet reached NVC and still no "case complete". :crying:

Is this normal?

And if we don't get "case complete" by April 15th, I guess we'll have to wait one more month for embassy interview to be scheduled...

You have tracking to show your package was indeed delivered to NVC, correct? And you've been calling NVC and asking about the status?

And why would you need to wait another month if it's completed after the 15th? blink.gif

does nvc always send false check lists when they start reviewing any of the packages ?? Or can the packages be reviewed wzout sending any emails ??

No, don't rely on false checklists to know packages have been accepted. I never got a false checklist.

YAY! Hubby got his tax transcripts so we are sending the AOS package away tomorrow! I have a question regarding the I-864. It's all filled out, I am just wondering in the areas that don't apply to us should we write N/A or None in every single spot? For example section 9 'Did someone help you fill this form out' Should I type None and N/A on all the lines?! Same for the optional section of the form?! That just seems like a ton of N/A and None's! LOL! I apologize for the silly/stupid question I just want to make sure I get this done right! When all of this is over I am seriously having a party

Using none or N/A depends on the question. If the question is applicable, but you don't have an answer, write 'none'. If the question isn't applicable, write 'N/A'.

If you're not using assets on the I-864 (the optional section I'm assuming you're talking about), is there a reason why you're not using the I-864EZ?

Anyone know how I can know when my case files have reached the US embassy in ISLAMABAD? If I cann NVC, will they be able to tell me this info?

Needed some information for the interview and the consulate told me to ask back when they have received the case files!

Thanks.

Once NVC sends your package off, they no longer have access to your case and its status. From there on out, it's DOS you should call, or the embassy directly.

Okay Darnell I promise to send Saylin some powdered gravy. She might need to find the cheese curds on her own though.

:D I'd love for someone to send me poutine! Out of all the people Darnell has told to me poutine, no one has! whistling.gif

If I'm scanning civil documents for my electronic processing in Mexico, can I do everything in black and white or grayscale or do they want to see color on those civil documents? They will get to see the originals at the interview.

All the civil documents need to be in color, otherwise NVC will think they're photocopies. The same for pages with signatures on forms.

I don't think I've ever had poutine from anywhere besides the La Belle Province restaurant, so I'm not sure what brand I like/hate! laughing.gif I wonder if they sell some here in town? huh.gif

My passport bio page came out to be 676KB and the whole package (8 pgs) came to 5.4 MB.

I’m on a Mac and I’m really not sure how to tell you DPI on it. All I know is when I drag it to make it big it doesn’t go blurry.
