Update... as you know my case is complete but also the expedite request has been approved.

I have a theory that they did wait for my case to complete to "approve" the expedite request as I read in several posts this same thing happened. Maybe not all but at least some.

Because the case is expedited the NVC does no longer work on it. So they said they send it to Algiers on 02/04 (but I am unable to find it on DHL tracker)... so I contacted embassy and now waiting again... hope the interview will happen soon.

there's entire thread on what some phils visa chaserrs did, they were OFW in singapura.

I'll find it, post a link.

which consulate will you be interviewing at?

if that's an AOS fee bill, you can send in the OPT IN EMAIL, including the scanned, signed, DS-3032 in pdf format as a file attachment.

Go Get Em !

Hi Darnell, thanks you for your kind helps. Yes, if you have link to the VJ member you mentioned, please be so kind so share with me, it will be very helpful for me to know what other VJ members have done before so that I can choose the right way to go about this.

My wife will be interviewed at the US Embassy in Singapore since we are currently residing in Singapore (even though she's from Vietnam originally).

Wohoo I got my visa approved today   , really so happy and wish everyone the best of luck. :D

Thanks to everyone for their help and a very very special thanks to Saylin and Darnell for their help all the way (F) (F)

Yay, congrats!!!!! kicking.gif

It's been almost 10 days since I sent the email to the NVC about correcting our visa post. They already acknowledged it by sending me an email that they are "looking into it".

Since then I've been calling every day to get an update only to be told very vague answers such as "it takes some time" or "it may be several weeks".

We are basically at a stand still right now until the NVC reassigns our case. I can't even pay our IV bill even though NVC has verified that I have been invoiced already.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could do at this point? Sending another email maybe?

Yes, send another email, with supervisor review at the beginning of the subject line, just like Darnell suggested. Hopefully a supervisor can do something quicker.

CASE COMPLETE CASE COMPLETE CASE COMPLETE

I swear I almost started crying while on the phone to the NVC. This process is so damn stressful and we're almost done.

Totally burst into tears the moment I got off the phone. The first time Ive cried this entire process too.

Congrats!! kicking.gif

I just got a checklist for two passport photographs (I included these in the IV package). This is a false checklist right (just a reminder to bring the originals to the interview)?

Yup, false checklist yes.gif

YAY! They FINALLY invoiced us for the IV :D Now I can THROW my money at them and be happy happy happy!!! :ot: On another note I had to get a new passport 2 years before my other passport expired to have my married name in it, and what does lovely passport Canada do... Not send me my birth certificate back :bonk::ot2: Anyway off to pay the IV Bill!

Did you try contacting Passport Canada to see if they can return the document to you?

Sent the da choice of agent form I hope I did it right

Question was I suppose to get three different number from Nvc thanks again

You only need 2 numbers: case number and IIN.

There is a third number (BIN) but it's only needed for those eligible to do online forms. Your country is not one of those eligible.

Update... as you know my case is complete but also the expedite request has been approved.

I have a theory that they did wait for my case to complete to "approve" the expedite request as I read in several posts this same thing happened. Maybe not all but at least some.

Call up DOS tomorrow once they open and ask if your case was sent to the embassy. They'll also be able to tell you when the case has arrived, along with anything else.

Daughter’s case is complete.

I should get a checklist as they didn’t like the document I sent for my military records.

I explained about it to the customer service lady and she’s going to send it for Supervisor review.

Any idea how long a review would take?

My case was complete on April 1st and it still says "Processing at NVC" on this site. So I would not trust that status that much.

It seems the READY on the site comes once the casefile gets to embassy and they do whatever or NVC does whatever. I guess that's when NVC says Phew we are done. Now you Ready. LOL

Case Complete to Interview spreadsheet

From now on your VJ Member name will be verified. If the name you put on form to be added to spreadsheet comes up not found, you will not be added to the spreadsheet. If you don't have a timeline you will not be added to the spreadsheet.

Please Please put your VJ member name only. Not nicknames or real names whatever your VJ name is. It's below your profile picture!!

They have to be in pdf form, preferably all in ONE pdf as an email attachment. The order does not matter as long as they are in the order on your cover letter that you type up. Saylin has an example in the NVC for Montreal wiki which will also work for Mexico. Just make sure each document has the case number on the top, that your email has your case number in the subject line, that you have the bar-coded cover sheet first, and that your cover letter you type also has your case number on it. My order was Barcode sheet, cover letter, pic 1, pic2, birth certificate front, birth certificate back, bio passport page, marriage certificate, police certifiate. But you don't have to do it in that order, just as long as you have all the pages. In the email you have to put beneficiary's and petitioner's names, dobs, and emails. You send it to the NVCElectronic@state.gov that you send the OPTIN email.

All the instructions are in Saylin's wiki for Montreal. You do it exactly the same! :D

Thank you!

I just found out (thanks to Roosha) the whereabouts of my DHL package. In Germany on its way to Algiers. The embassy will be open on sunday and I already sent them an email.

So... it looks I might have an exciting sunday... beauty of Algeria's weekend on Fri/Sat :-) (I think like Israel, Egypt and Dubai...)

Get another supervisor. That stuff can be sent on, if a supervisor or three makes it happen. OTOH, attend the interview with as much stuff as you have on the 9th, then go into 221g/AP status, until the rest of the casefile shows up.

It sounds like you not bring up what I wrote, with a Supervisor. It pays to do that™, so please, do that.

Thank you for your advise. I did send an email to the embassy last night, they'll get it this morning. I told them that the file was still at NVC and it was unlikely they could get it to the embassy before April 9th, but they were going to try. I asked if it was possible for them to "pull everything from SAFEFILE". Honestly, I don't know what that means so I had no idea how to phrase it. Anyway, I suggested that they might want to reschedule our interview for later the same week in anticipation of our DS-230 and civil documents arriving from NVC on Tue or Wed. We'll see what they say. I am also going to call NVC tonight, I was told to talk with the supervisors on first shift again and not speak to the second shift supervisors as it would just confuse things/people at the NVC. So, it's all up in the air again when I thought we were on the ground and running. Thanks again Darnell, you were the first to get me started on this forum and I still appreciate that.

Yeah... I doubt they'll accept after the review, something must be legimately wrong with them, i'll just have her get the documents again to the letter, maybe the stamps on them were wrong or something.

We sent them the english + urdu hybrid versions, not sure if they didn't like the stamp on them or what, not sure. It was the printed type, from NADRA, whatever, a month wasted in the end. sad.gif

I think they'll accept your documents if they are original, issued from Nadra. In my view somehow they get confused when they see a certificate or document , in a new format, other than usual documents they have been seeing before.

Relax, we are in the same boat, unfortunately! As for the birth certificate, there is one issued from Union Council, hand written. (Usually at the time of the birth) If your wife has that, you can try sending the original copy of that for a safe side. Though I am hoping they'll accept the printed Nadra ones.

Like it states, original or certified copy. If you have a certified copy, I'd suggest sending that instead. And um, it should be the same certificate for both, so only one is needed.

Hi

Are certified and attested copy, both means the same?

Thank you
