No credit check is not done. has nothing to do with immigration. Co-sponsor just needs to show proof of being a citizen or LPR. That's it

Thank you so much that gives me a relieve.

It says "Processing at NVC" for me still, so I would call to check :)

My case was complete on April 1st and it still says "Processing at NVC" on this site. So I would not trust that status that much.

I am losing my marbles. wacko.gif Now NVC says they are going to return our IV packet (that should have gone with the expedited case to Embassy) to me and not the embassy. It's still sitting there at NVC. They opened it up on April 1. Shouldn't whoever opened our IV packet and punched the case into the computer have seen that the case was expedited/gone and shipped it immediately to the embassy?

Looks like we will have to push our interview date back. I am really hoping that DHL doesn't lose our IV packet and Originals in the mail. That would truly be a disaster, as of now it's just a major headache.

Thanks Saylin.

I will start calling NVC from this week (got the case complete and interview date on Monday April 1st) so will give it a few days. I will look through the initial thread to see if there is a phone number of DOS that I can call to check if the case has been received. I believe first we talk to NVC and then after a few days we start calling DOS right?

I have not been able to get the information on whether New Delhi embassy allows petitioners in or not. I searched through this forum and other forums as well but could not find that information.

I understand the pros and cons of being there - thanks for your thoughts on that.

Is there an email address to be able to contact them or do I need to just call them to ask this question?

The number for DOS is in the first post ;)

Have you checked the official embassy site for New Delhi? If they don't have the information there, they'll at least have contact information for you to get a hold of them yes.gif

Doesn't look like there is a form in the US Embassy New Delhi but there are multiple email addresses.

There are two that I could use - still need to decide which one to use (since the query is for an American Citizen, asking whether he can join his spouse who is a non-citizen)

Maybe I will send it out to both the mailboxes

Well, you can't possibly have 2013 W2s already, so it's number 2.

Yeah, I was thinking 2012 W2.

So, it's OK that employment letter doesn't exactly match the gross pay on W2? I can ask HR for another letter now that 2012 W2 is final, but not sure if I can request the exact amount for them to put on it.

guys, the NVC took the money out of my bank account, but it still shows in progress on the pay portal. I already send the papers, so that is no issue! I am just concerned if anyone went thru something like this! :)

I paid the $88 on the 29th also and it's showing in progress also, and it already went thru on my bank account but I don't have the bill for the $230 yet. :( Hoping it shows up soon.

I think you would use the Immigrant Visa support one. The form I have used is under Immigrant Visas. And that's the department you need to ask.

No, not 2012 W2s. That doesn't have anything to do with current annual income (unless you've gotten no raises in the past year). The question on current annual income is 'how much are you making right NOW'.

If you're salary, put your CURRENT salary. If you're hourly, do some math and calculate how much you're CURRENTLY making in a year. So, say you currently earn $10/hour and you work 40 hours a week. That's 10 x 40 x 52 = 20800, thus in this example, the current annual income would be $20,800.

Current annual income has NOTHING to do with past tax returns or W2s. It's supported by employment letters and pay stubs.

Was looking good until I found out today that NVC never sent our IV packet with original documents with our case to the embassy. The embassy is telling me to call NVC and straighten it out! On hold now with NVC. So upsetting because I was assured it would be sent with our case on three separate phone calls.girlwerewolf2xn.gif

you need a supervisor on this one... you need to know exactly what date the casefile left nvc.

not what date it was bundled up in the mailroom with the other casefiles,

not the schedule for normal shipping to Nepal,

but

the actual date it left NVC.

If it's still there at NVC today, IMO, will be best that you get exact replicas (including new original docs) of all IV and AOS stuff, prepared before the 9th. That's what that blurb in the email from the IV unit was about... Also, remind anyone at Nepal IV that they can actually use the SAFEFILE version of the casefile, remind them to pull everything out of SAFEFILE (but still present the IV and AOS to them) .

Is quite possible that IV and AOS hasn't been scanned into SAFEFILE yet, but the I-130 set IS scanned into safefile already , so when asking the IV unit to pull the SAFEFILE record, bear that in mind, aye?

Go Get Em !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I will just ask for the latest employment letter and include that amount.
