I woke up to see a message from my husband telling me to check my email.......

We have our interview date, May 14th!!! I am so so excited, and so glad that this is the final official WAIT!!!!

kicking.gifkicking.gifkicking.gifkicking.gifkicking.gif

Congrats! kicking.gif

Saylin- My husband has 2 jobs and his part time job doesn't give him the letter of verification. They gave him this paper with a 1800 number to call if someone wants to verify his employment. What should we do?

Can he get an employment letter from the other job? And at the one he can't get a letter, does he have at least pay stubs as proof of current income there?

DHL just delivered my IV and AOS Packages . When shall i start calling NVC to know if its in the system ? When do u think both packages will be reviewed ?

I miss calling NVC everyday ,lool

Start calling them tomorrow yes.gif And everyday after that.

WOOHOOOO!!!! Sorry for yelling. Congressman Liasion had USCIS send a copied file. NVC acknowledges receiving it today just not in the system. After 2 months and 2 days, I'm back in the game. Stress level decreased enormously.

Finally! kicking.gif Once a case number is assigned, request an expedite due to USCIS error the very same day.

So... Case complete:-)... finally!!!

NVC said my case will leave to the embassy shortly and asked me to call back tomorrow to find out. They do not know how the embassy will go by scheduling the interview and contacting me. So I guess in a few days I will start contacting the embassy although in Algiers they have no contact info... only an emergency line that I am reluctant to use... advice?

Woohoo, yay! kicking.gif

My suggestion: keep in contact with NVC until they confirm the case was indeed sent out and you have an exact date. Then give it a few days, then call up DOS to confirm the case has arrived at the embassy. Once it has, give them an additional day or two to process the paperwork. And then contact the embassy. Do they have an email address? If all they have is an emergency line, well, use it :P If it's not the appropriate situation to use it, they'll tell you and you can just ask how you're supposed to contact them.

Hi everyone,

Yesterday I got an email from NVC marking that my case was complete and an interview date was assigned. I was in my wife's country visiting for the past two weeks so never got a chance to call NVC to check up on the case. Last week I got a checklist which turned out to be a false checklist (AOS packet received, waiting for Packet IV).

The email from NVC came with a pdf attachment that states

The NVC has completed processing the case of the beneficiary and forwarded it to the American Embassy in New Delhi.

An interview has been scheduled on 05/09/2013

I am very happy to hear this. I have updated my signature.

I was just wondering if this is the usual process because I have seen that in some other cases, the case complete email is sent, then the interview date is assigned after a few days to a few weeks? Or am I mistaken. The pdf that was attached in the email states that the case was completed, interview date assigned and the case has been forwarded to the American embassy all at the same time.

Thank you everyone for all your help.

Now I have to read up on what the next steps to prepare for the interview is.

First off: grats! kicking.gif

Typically, one gets those emails separately. But, it isn't impossible to get a case complete and interview scheduled in the same day. I've seen it happen in the past. Consider yourself lucky that you didn't have to spend weeks waiting for an interview! ;)

A little confused..when I called the NVC they said they have received my file and will contact me when a case number is there.. They don't have an email for me, should i ignore them and keep calling?

Keep calling every single day. Otherwise, they'll mail correspondence out to you which can take awhile to receive.

I'm in the same boat as you. Both packages will be there today. I was thinking to start calling Friday or Monday. Then maybe everyday after. But I don't know if that's to soon.....

It's been taking about a week to 10 days to get the packages reviewed. You probably won't hear anything until AT LEAST early next week, but I'd call every day until you get case complete. Good Luck! good.gif

Ignore them. Call every day until you get your case number. It's taking a couple of weeks right now, but keep calling until you have the information you need. good.gif

NVC isn't closed today! Or if it is, it's the first time I've heard of it. blink.gif Easter isn't a public holiday, and warrants no vacation for government offices. I'd try giving them a call to confirm! Sounds like they accepted your AOS package. good.gif

My husband called NVC today and they confirmed that our AOS is approved! Woo Hoo!!! :) and IV bill shows PAID today :) Oh happy day :)

Hey, I just want everyone's opinion on what I should do.

So..I just realized last week that I don't have one of the documents needed for my DS-230 package [i got confused about the PCC, I thought my husband didn't need one, yeah I didn't read it correctly] and I won't have it until next week enabling me to mail out my package after April 15th when 2012 taxes are due. I'am planning to do them on Friday, but I just feel bad for my sponsor since she has to pay to do her taxes again! We just did 2011 3 weeks ago

The benefit of sending my stuff out now is that they can start working on it, and I can slide by the 2012 tax request info. But I worry that when they ask for the PCC, It will hold me up 1-2 weeks more...to finally complete my case

So should I just send it in now and wait for NVC to send me the checklist and have my PCC out asap(next day mail) or wait for the PCC and have a super smooth sailing at NVC..and even if I do wait and send out my stuff by April 15th..if they get it on the 16th and start working on it the 17th..Then in 10 business days, that's May..in the long run, I just want my case to be complete by april for a June interview date...looking at someone else with a similar history as I from 2years ago, they finished everything by April 21 and had a June 28th interview(but they asked for an earlier date)...ugh...the choices...

This is a very long indecisive question..XD

Did you submit form G-1145 with I-130 when you filed?. If yes they will email you once NVC generate an invoice for AOS (which is 2-3 days right after NVC has assigned you a case# in their system) along with DS-3032 telling you to pay $88 for AOS it's all in the email. From there you can call NVC and added beneficiary email if you wish but I don't think it necessary really up to you.

Thanks everyone!!

I have a few questions.

I received only one email with a pdf that says that the case was complete, interview assigned and case sent to the embassy. Do we expect any more emails from NVC now?

For ensuring that the documents have been forwarded to the us embassy, do we need to call NVC or just trust that the documents will get there before the interview date?

I want to go with my wife to the interview if I can get a few days off. Are we allowed to join our spouse for the interview and if yes, is there some process that we need to go through to actually be allowed in the embassy for the interview.

Are there any pros and cons to being with the spouse physically during the interview?

That's really up to Embassy but so far from what I understand they ONLY allow the person whom will be geting an interview that day unless specified. Even in waiting area is NOT allow. In a case of language barrier and translation is needed I'm sure they have many people works there will help her/him.
