You sent IV before AOS?

Is that normal?

I thought it was usually the other way around.

It's normally the other way around. My husband didn't have the stuff for me to send the AOS until then.

Have any of you contact NVCResearch recently? How long does it take to get a human-generated acknowledgment response?

I've sent them an email on last Thursday evening (~10PM) with scanned copies of I-797. A minute later I received an automated response:

Thank you for your recent inquiry to the National Visa Center. This e-mail is an auto response. Please do not respond.
We review and reply as appropriate to all e-mails in the order they are received.
Thank you,
National Visa Center

But as of today, Monday, I have not received anything else. No email saying they will contact USCIS to help locate the case on our behalf. I called on Fri afternoon and they said they respond to the emails in the order they were received, they get 100s of emails a day, and they'll respond when they get to my email. But still, 4 days later and no email.

Should I resend the approval notice or just wait few more days?

Just wait. It can take up to 2 weeks for an email reply.

I would expect the resolution email, where they tell me what they found out about my case, to take 2 weeks.

But I was expecting to receive sooner some acknowledgment that someone actually read my email, similar to this one I've found other people post on VJ

"Please be advised that the National Visa Center (NVC) has received your inquiry and the attached I-797 Notice of Action - Approval Notice. Unfortunately, we do not have record of receiving your approved petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. The NVC will contact USCIS on your behalf for information on the location of this petition."
Then they take their time to talk to USCIS. As of right now, I don't even know that a human opened my email.

Hi everyone! What's in AP? We send a letter to nvc that we would like to withdraw our daughter's IR2 stating the reason.. And here's what they replied: " This petition is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. You will be notified with further instructions when the processing is complete." what is this mean? Thank you!

I tried replying last night, but just as I hit the reply button, VJ went offline huh.png First time I've seen it go offline in the nearly 3 years I've been here! Now I log on today and everything is different. How's everyone else handling the changes?

My notes section is g o n e. I have an archive from 3 months ago, so that's no so bad. I'm not so convinced the site owner has any real interest in immigration stuff, other than to generate ad income .

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Oh, come on NikiR, there is no need for that comment. I have plenty of patience and am in no big hurry. I was just trying to clarify that my question was about the acknowledgment email, not the resolution email. If it takes them 2 weeks to acknowledge they have received my email, so be it, I'll wait. But I thought that in your first response you were maybe saying it can take them two weeks to let me know what they found out (resolution), which is about how long I've seen people here got their response. Maybe they don't even send those acknowledgment emails any more.

Anyway, thanks for your response!

Darrnell, I think your PM inbox is full...

Apologies - I don't do PMs here. If you have some sticky bit that you need help with - is best to (in this order):

1. use the advanced search tool on a PC, searching with terms that might match your issue

2. post a new topic, completely outlining your problem or issue, asking for input and/or resolution.

3. if you think your things are WAY TOO PERSONAL, then is best to engage with an immigration attorney who has experience with your particular problem. IF you are experiencing difficulty because of an immigration attorney, instead - is best to fight an attorney with another attorney.

Go Get Em, and GOOD LUCK !

Darnell, could you share how you worded the letter to your "ILS Human"/ You are always good with words when it comes to talk-with-the-government-officials stuff!. Thanks!

Sure - I can post something soonish.

I got my acceptance email after 5 business days of sending it in and RFE email 5 business days after the acceptance. Hope that helps.

Does any one know if we have to sent in my AOS I-864 before we can get the IV invoice? Our OPTIN was already accepted. I want to make sure we are not delaying the process by not sending in I-864 (I'm waiting on some supporting documents). Thanks!

sending patterns for GZO:

1. wait until you are issued a GZO #. You have a GUZ #, you must wait until a GZO # is issued. GZO # issued when OPT IN is successful.

2. when AOS FEE BILL is marked 'paid' in the NVC payment portal and you have a GZO#, is safe to send in AOS set.

3. when IV FEE Bill is marked 'paid' in the NVC payment portal and you have a GZO #, is safe to send in the IV set.

Caveats:

a. since cover sheets with barcode are instantly available when a fee bill is viewable, is possible to send in a SET same day of visibility, if you already have a GZO #.

Hi ! we got the same letter from NVCResearch after we sent our scanned copy and then after two weeks we got respond about our case. So don't worry they have your scanned copies and you should get respond from them next week :)

Good luck!
