I called yesterday to know when was my case completed, they told me it was on 19th and I haven't been assigned any interview date yet. So technically you'll get an email in a week and if we get lucky we might get scheduled for an interview soon too. But I'm glad at least we are near to end blush.gif

Lol! Same what I have been thinking the whole process tongue.gif

Yeah, but I want to get an interview before July, my wife can only visit me for the summer during her break from university... cray5ol.gif

I'm hoping they assign interview dates at the beginning of the month, that would be awesome!

Been reading every page on here. It still makes me nervous. I keep praying all runs smooth.

NVC received my NOA2 April 11

NVC assigned case # April 19

I emailed DS-3032 April 19

864 inv. pmt. portal opened April 25 (I paid)

864 pckg. send DHS express April 26

Now hoping inv. pmt. portal opens next week and I get to send the last package.DS-230

My medical is set for the 6th May (good for 12 month)

I pray I don't get a checklist.

You definitely won't be prompted after the DS-260. If anything is missing in the IV package, you will get a checklist. Although, NVC might not catch it (or they don't have the requirement) whereas the consulate might. If you don't mind, can you share your story? It'd be a lot easier to tell if you need to send something in or not.

I had a green card that was abandoned when we left the US a couple of years ago. There is a question in the DS-260 like "Have you ever had a visa revoked or cancelled?" I answered no because the question implies 'have you ever had a visa taken away from you'. And it wasn't. But I suspect that they may want a copy of the previous visa and a copy of the form 407 which abandons the US permanent resident status (which actually wasn't filed until this year on a border crossing). I was thinking about just going ahead and including a copy of each with my DS-260 documents in anticipation of questions. Your thoughts?

i now have submitteed the I-864 and the DS-260 as of yesterday. Will send in the IV documents thios weekend with any luck.

There's a difference between a green card and a visa. If you were in the US with a green card, then replying no to that question was appropriate. I think in your case, you don't need to submit anything additional. But, it might be a good idea to have on hand for the interview. I was in the US for two years on a visa (didn't have a green card). I didn't submit anything to USCIS or NVC about it. I did bring a copy of my old passport with the visa stamp, but I was never asked any questions about it at the interview. I'm guessing their background checks were enough.

Essentially had both - at different times of course. Was issued IR-1 visa valid for one from date of issue and then a green card followed. I plan on taking the approach you mention. No point in kicking the sleeping dog but be ready for it when I get to the interview.

You might have had both, but one follows another (with the IR-1 visa). Since you endorsed the visa at the border, you then had a green card, not a visa. But anyways, the point is, you answered correctly on the form and I doubt NVC will ask for any sort of documentation about this. It may be asked about at the interview (what happened, why you left the US, etc), but again, they may not, as they didn't ask me anything about my previous visa stay in the US.

I am not worried about this one. The dreaded domicile is still going to be the hurdle in Montreal.

Yes, previous visa/green card probably won't be an issue. They are serious about domicile though. Only thing Montreal is really tough about.

Need some help on this one: Now my husband filed for the 2012 extension for his taxes...he's not ready yet to file for his taxes.. However, It's not clear if he can just send in his 2009 to 2011 transcripts.. along with his W2's ect.. or is it a requirement that he has to send in the 2012 transcripts right now with the AOS package?..

Since it's past the tax deadline, 2012 tax information is required. So, he'll need to send in 2010 and 2011, along with a copy of his 2012 extension letter.
