Thanks!

I didn't get an email about case complete yet, it's been two days now. Not sure if you get case complete email once an interview date is assigned or a few days after case complete. blink.gif

iA we'll be assigned interview dates soon, but so much uncertainty, it's driving me crazy.headbonk.gif

Anyone here that has recently received an interview date (this year) from the Islamabad embassy? If so, what date of the month did you receive the interview date? I still can't find what day they release interview dates.

I called yesterday to know when was my case completed, they told me it was on 19th and I haven't been assigned any interview date yet. So technically you'll get an email in a week and if we get lucky we might get scheduled for an interview soon too. But I'm glad at least we are near to end blush.gif

Wow, US Govt, timely and reliable... headbonk.gif

Lol! Same what I have been thinking the whole process :P

Thanks Saylin. So how will know If I need to send additional info? Will I get a checklist? Or will I be prompted after completing the DS-260?

You definitely won't be prompted after the DS-260. If anything is missing in the IV package, you will get a checklist. Although, NVC might not catch it (or they don't have the requirement) whereas the consulate might. If you don't mind, can you share your story? It'd be a lot easier to tell if you need to send something in or not.

Folks, something VERY strange just happened.

As far as I know, our I-130 case file was sent to NVC. The case file took a long time to get to the NVC. I had to get my Senator's immigration staffer involved to find out what was happening to the case file. But finally NVC generated a case number (twice since it was incorrect the first time), billed me for the AOS and IV, and processed the AOS. I sent them the IV packet but they have not processed it yet.

Today I got a letter forwarded to me by the immigration staffer. It was sent to her by the Congressional Liaison for Houston, and referenced my MSC number. it says this:

Hello,

NVC does not have the I-130's. The box was inadvertently shipped by Houston to the NRC instead of the NVC. They have been requested back to Houston and will be forwarded to the NVC as quickly as possible.

I apologize for the delay that this error has caused and we will move them as expeditiously as possible. I have notified NVC as well so you will probably hear from them as they close their inquiry with you.

Again, I apologize.

(signed) Congressional Liaison, USCIS Houston

What in the name of little green apples? I thought my file was at the NVC! I called the NVC to see if they really did have the file, and the rep insisted that she was looking at my information in the system, and that the information would not be in the system if the file had not been received. What is going on?

I'd say they're getting old information headbonk.gif

Hello Everybody. I have posted the below question in F2A category thread, only one said there is no harm in it. I'm looking for few more opinions if possibile, so I am daring to post in this thread again without defying the first opinion.

'I am about to submit my AOS package. I have a join sponser because I don't have any current income. Also my previous last 3 years incomes were also below Poverty guideline's level. I have shown my bank balance in I864 form as my assets but it is also not upto the requirement level. So I am crossing my fingers, that my AOS will be approved with having join sponser. Please advice if anyone of you have any doubts. As I am searching for a job right now, I am thinking to attach a letter with the AOS package explaing my current situation that 'I am looking for a job and I will provide my pay stubs during interview if I get a job by that time.' Please advice if it is OK to do or not. Hope the extra document(letter) won't raise extra questions or burden while interview in case I won't able to show my pay stubs. That is the main concern here.'

Thank you

There's no harm in including that, but honestly, to me, it'd be pointless (as a reviewing officer). If it were me, I'd leave it out. And if you do get a job by the interview, fill up a new I-864 with that information, as well as have pay stub(s) ready to bring as well.

We received an email an hour ago saying that the AOS was invoiced. I logged on using IE and indeed we can pay. HOWEVER, only my son and daughter's cases are linked together, mine is yet to be included. Do you think I should wait a little longer and hope that all 3 will be linked soon or should I call NVC to enquire?

By the way, I have seen that the DOS' website is going to be down from 6pm EST tomorrow, looks like they have found what the issue is!

I'd suggest waiting until all cases are linked together, to prevent any possible delays. Call them up Monday and inquire about linking your case to theirs.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you can only link two cases. Since there's 3 cases involved, need to pay 2 seperate AOS fee.

That wouldn't make sense with cases that have a beneficiary and 2+ kids. You can link as many cases together, as long as they're related.

I tried replying last night, but just as I hit the reply button, VJ went offline huh.png First time I've seen it go offline in the nearly 3 years I've been here! Now I log on today and everything is different. How's everyone else handling the changes?

The timelines and photos and some links are borked. My profile picture and forum picture were SWITCHED when I logged in this morning! I can't update my own photo albums or timeline, or see other people's timelines. The font sizes are too small in the post composition window.

And I just got this when I tried to post: "The administrator has limited the number of new posts you can submit within a short time frame. Please wait 2 seconds before replying or posting a new topic." ranting33va.gif
