This question:

Correspondence from the U.S. Department of State regarding your visa application will be sent to

Should I put the Canada address?

Or my US address?

I don't really care either way, but I notice any gov't mail sent to canada seems to take FOREVER from the US.

But I don't know if they're sending something important that I'll actually need in Canada.

Or just updates?

Good morning!

Got our case numbers today starting with PRS but no IIN yet.

They took note of our email addresses, however my email address wasn t added to my children's cases as I am not named on their applications (!!??! - I am their biological mother!).

Do I now need to send the email confirming our email addresses (equivalent of DS3032) or is it enough that the NVC confirmed our email addresses ?

Should I call them everyday now to get IIN numbers?

I was also told that 'it can' (and not 'it will') take 20 business days to send the packages out.

I'm the beneficiary

I always suggest the petitioner's address, just in case. But remember, as long as you gave over both email addresses when the case number was assigned, then the DS-261/DS-3032 becomes a moot form as all correspondence is sent by email.

I had them list my email for both of us.

Is this a problem?

Call back up after lunch and try again. If the IIN still isn't ready, then call again right before they close. If not, tomorrow.

And unfortunately, the beneficiary can't add or request information about other beneficiaries, even if it's their children. So the petitioner will have to do that.

The DS-3032 still needs to be sent. It's not confirmation of emails, it's electing someone as agent.

You mean you gave over both email addresses? Cause that's what you're supposed to do.

Did you call everyday for your IIN?

What did you do when the NVC gave you your case number? Did you send the template email confirming the email addresses or waited until your IIN?

So do I need to wait for the IIN until I can send the DS3032?

How about the email template? Can I send this now?

I sent the optin email last week.

It was not confirmed or anything yet.

I think I received my case number Friday.

I called yesterday and was given my IIN and BIN.

Keep in mind, KDH has a completely different process than you (EP and online forms). Canadians don't email the DS-3032. And remember, the DS-3032 is not confirming email addresses, it's a form to choose an agent. Please be careful how you word things.

You don't need to wait for the IIN to email the DS-3032. All you need is the case number. And you gave over both email addresses to an operator, right? If so, yes you can send it.

Thanks so much for your help.

It seems to me that I am VERY confused.... So can we consider the DS3032 as the email template we can find on your wiki or do I need to print the actual DS3032, complete it, scan it and send it via email?

Put your US address. It's for sending the physical correspondence and mailing the SSN and green card for the hubs.

Thanks so much for your help.

Use the email template.
