You don't need to. The NVC will mail the whole package containing your PCC to the US Embassy in your country. There's no need to obtain another one.

You do need to bring a copy of the police certificate to the medical in the UK, but I think it is OK if it is just a copy. To be safe my husband ordered two PCCs when he got his.

I'm a dual US/Hungarian citizen (both by birth; Hungarian citizenship verification TBA), and my husband is a dual British/Irish citizen (by treaty) from Northern Ireland. We are atheists.

LATEST STEPS:

28 Jun 2013: POE Houston

08 Jul 2013: SSN received (at SSA office)

07 Aug 2013: Green Card received

27 Feb 2014: Whoa, life happened. Planning move "back home" together to Republic of Ireland by end of April.

29 Apr 2014: POE Dublin through Heathrow

15 May 2014: Received formal residency/work permission (GNIB card with Stamp 4, one year renewable) for the ROI

I want to get some opinions on one question... Is it ok to have plane tickets to US, when I will go to the interview? Because I would like to go back to US as fast as possible :)

It's fine, if you want to risk paying change fees if the visa does not get to you when you think it will. I don't have a problem with it because the risk is actually low, and the cost of a nonrefundable ticket plus the change fee plus the difference in fare between the old ticket and the new one is going to be less than the cost of a refundable ticket with change rights. Make sure you book your ticket far enough out from the interview to ensure you get your visa back in time. Three weeks is the minimum I would allow in the UK; your mileage may vary. Compare costs of one-way and round-trip tickets. Nobody cares if you don't use the second leg of the trip.

A lot of people will howl and scream not to book a ticket without having the visa in hand, because of the risk you might have to change things. Just don't make any plans you can't afford to change, is my advice.

We are just going to book the next affordable flight once my husband has the visa in his hands.

Help! I can't sign into the payment portal. Why?

If you're getting an error message ("Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time…" or "This case is in the process of termination. Fee payments and online forms can no longer be accepted…" or "You cannot make online payments for your case at this time. Please contact the NVC if you have questions or need further information."), do NOT panic. This is actually good news! If you just got your case number, then this message means NVC is inputting your case in their system. If you get this message a few days after case number generation, then it's a good possibility that NVC is invoicing your AOS bill. And if this message appears a few days after DS-3032 acceptance, then there's a good chance the IV bill is being invoiced.

Since I'm getting this message trying to sign into the Choice of Agent portal, should I take this to mean the same thing as the above?

Sounds like they're invoicing you.

This is not on the invoicing portal.

Same thing though... they're probably updating your file (I wonder if this message appears when the case record is open on someone's computer and it is protected from editing by other readers).

This is not on the invoicing portal.

You can't log into either if they're invoicing. I know, I tried. Lol

The applicant portal is linked directly to the invoice portal.

Interesting theory.

I like it.

But if that's the case, someone needs to close my record.

Been open for 24 hours.

hi Saylin, Darnell & all other VJ members,

Hope u'll be able to help me clear this doubt of mine.....I would like to know whether its normal to get an A-number with 8 digits??? coz my husband has been assigned an A-number of 8 digits (without counting the A), thats how it shows on his visa....is that a typo or is it how it works right now? any help is greatly appreciated.

Just looked at my visa and my registration number (aka A number) is 8 digits. Nothing to worry about!

:wow: Hello!!!

Finally good news! My case was completed yesterday!!!!!!!!!:dance::dance::dance:

They're either invoicing the AOS bill and/or getting the DS-261 ready for you.
