I believe something like 20% of Ottawa's population is foreign-born. From Africa, Somalia, Iran, etc. And again, I never attempted to flee from anyone.

Yet, you're now in America.

 I lost the "which one of us moves?" argument. :(

The only reason we're in the states, is because of my job. Otherwise I would've moved to Ontario to be with my wife in a second.

Yup, exactly the same situation. My husband has an excellent job here that he loves. Financially and logically, it made sense for me to move here. Emotionally, I would have liked to stay where I was.

Same here. My wife is going through a case of the homesick blues right now and I wish I could help her, but the only thing is for her to get home for a bit. Her son just had a baby and she's chomping at the bit. We're headed back the end of May.

That's awesome. I don't have many complaints about where I live now, it just isn't home. And I'm not sure it ever will be. But that's okay - family visits make it better :) My parents are coming down in June.

Family visits are always good.

Indeed. My parents, bless their hearts, are in their 60s and they'll still drive the 18 hours to see me since my mom can't fly.

Anyway, nobody cares. :lol::ot2:

The city I lived in for the majority of my life? Ottawa, Canada.

The city I live in now is as white as can be, I've noticed.

Perfect!,

You now qualify as an expert on these matters.

Can you show me a chart comparing liberals vs conservatives in regards to living quarters? Because when someone is quoted at being like that, it's usually a conservative that years for the "yesterdays".

My friend, chart not needed, Black areas are "black areas' because nearly all whites have moved out.

Is it by accident when libs buy homes they don't buy there? I guess they just don't want the good deal on real estate.

Sure they talk about "diversity" but what they really mean is a bit of flavoring.

Just think of the progress that could be done if every time a Lefty bought a home, he bought in these neighborhoods, the markets would rise, neighborhood involvement would rise.

Good will and intercultural relations could be better established.... but they won't do it.

I see Diversity is a principle you believe in and one of these days you might experience.

NOw what would be really cool is if you could taste just for a few months (nothing crazy) what life is like in areas populated of those whose families and then communities have been devastated by the helping hand of big-gov.

One thing I've noticed about that. All these "idealists" want racial harmony and people living side by side. Yet they all seem to live in surburbia somewhere.
