It takes time. With the DACAs too its taking more time in the cali service center. It does seem like more time but if you just breathe. Look at things that you can do to improve both your lives when your Boo gets here then it will go by faster. Just try to stop looking and watching the clock. Like my soon to be wife says. Keep busy time will fly by.

Sadly, Haitian visas are not automatically expedited. We have been waiting 8.5 months for NOA2 through VSC (filed 7/10/12). It took 7 months for us to receive any word, which was an RFE. But, we were grateful for it, because it meant someone was finally looking at our case (and was a quick fix). But- we continue to wait. Use this time of waiting to get your paperwork ready for the next step. Keep an eye on the processing times (currently within 5 months for K-1 through VSC). Once you're outside of those times, you can do a service request. I also have been working with my Congressman's office which has been helpful. Good Luck and enjoy the journey!

Thank you!! I didnt think that person had to react that way either.

i really hope you get approved soon so your boo could be with. and thank you!! :)

luvable: some context. As of next week, my partner and I will be hitting the 8-month mark. Most people are well beyond six.

Good luck.

No, clearly they are not being automatically expedited, but if you use the search tools here you will see that some (two recently) are processed in extraordinarily short times. Though if you look at the posts of the two recent fast transit K1's that involve Haitians their verbiage makes it seem that they too were surprised.

Perhaps it's an artifact of the Haitian earthquake, who knows, maybe there is one processor in Vermont who has a streamlined process. It's strange. We'll probably never know.

yeah it helped. just thought that anyone who filed in the last two month of 2012 and this year were approved quickly than those who applied in the beginning of 2012 up to september. because when i looked at when other folks on here filed it seemed as though thats what was going on

As Lyricolan and mtcmk1 has stated there is a chance that your case will find itself expedited because the case involves a Haitian, though if you have not gotten an A2 yet and it has been a month the numbers indicate to me that you are not likely one of the lucky Haitian applications that were (or are), for some reason clearly expedited, and appears to have been done so without the petitioner asking as both parties who show recent short transit times comments indicate surprise.

Let's back up a bit.

If one searches you find many cases of expedited cases ranging from 6 days to a month or so.

Searching through some I found military involvement which appears to be a clear cause for expedition (yes I know that word cannot be used there but I like it) (expedition = journey, but you get the point)

This leaves several other cases of very short duration.

One I simply do not believe. Remember I could put in today's date on my A1 and next week change my timeline saying that I have received my A2 even if it is not so. Why would someone do that? I'm not allowed to discuss it so I'll only say that if someone is touting any way to expedite the process by any means other than a request through USCIS be wary.

This leaves a unique group which has a few very short transit times and they involve Haitians.

Ashley & Merzie's a1 was sent in on 3/22/13 and the a2 received a few days ago on 3/28, a transit time of six days!

Angie and Erica (daviseri) has a transit time of about 20 days.

Based upon their comments it appears that neither requested that their case be expedited.

But these two are within a larger group which involve Haitians and one sees transit times of ~220 days; ~206 days and ~185 days for three others.

So I'd say "you have a chance" excepting that since a month has passed I'd guess that you're in the 185-206 range. When you fill in your timeline it will tell you an estimate date as VJ takes data and updates your timeline when others update theirs to adjust for faster or slower transit times.

I'm guessing that it's a carry-over of the Haitian earthquake episode when the VSC expedited lots of Haitian applications. But clearly it's erratic.

I hope this helps.

I find it odd that my post was deleted for "violating the terms of service agreement" for telling the person who made this topic in the forum that she should (1) check other posts before posting, (2) check the USCIS website for processing times, and (3) also look around the visajourney website before posting a question about processing times for NOA1 to NOA2 to see if it hadn't already been answered on the same page. Apparently it is inappropriate to also tell her how unreasonable a 2 month turn around time for NOA1 to NOA2 is, though I still noted that it is possible for her to hear soon because she is from Haiti, and she just may be lucky after all.

So I'm sorry I don't want to falsely get her hopes up by saying, "Yes! You WILL hear back soon! You will see your fiance by June!" Perhaps I should be all sweet and lie like USCIS? Tell her everything is perfect and she will hear in two weeks?? And then in two more tell her "Oh, it should just two more" and continue the cycle for several months??

So I'm sorry my post "violated the guidelines."

I also want to say to the original poster, luvable, that I really do hope the best for you in this process. But I would hate for you to be making plans for your life, getting your hopes up, dreaming about the future, etc, and then being devastated emotionally or financially when it doesn't work the way you planned. It has happened to many of us here on visajourney. Many of us filed in July 2012. When we filed, CSC was approving the petitions at record speeds - 3 or 4 months to receive the NOA2. They were quoting that the average time was 5 months. Many of us waited patiently for 5 or 6 months, thinking that everything was ok, normal, as it should be. Only then did we begin to realize what was happening at CSC. Now we are at 8 or 9 months, wondering if we will be able to get married THIS YEAR.

It wasn't so much what you said, but how you said it. Your comments were rude and abrasive and were certainly not written in any way to be received as useful advice by the OP. If you had written to her the same way you wrote your comments above to me, your post would not have been removed.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Yes I know. I try not to think about it either. I have a choice in a month to go back and visit or continue to pay off the little debt we have so we start our lives right :) So many choices.. Birthday present and trip to her or stay here and get things taken care of. The distance totally bites!
