Guys, PLEASE read the instructions before updating the list. This has happened a million times now - new people come in (which is great!), but when they update the list they don't read the instructions and end up copying a very old version of the list, thus deleting a ton of people whose cases have already been added. It's unnecessary to have to correct the list after each "update". If you just read the instructions at the top of the list these mistakes can be avoided. Thank you!

USC who lived in Manabí, Ecuador with hubby from 2009 - 2013. Hubby became a naturalized American citizen in August 2016. Currently living together in northern Virginia.

Correcting my visa type.

DO NOT DELETE: *****Please take the most recent update from the list*****

Instructions

1. If you want your status to be added/updated, do not say "Please add me". Go ahead and edit it yourself. You do not need permission.

2. Please make sure you are using Rich Text Editor as your message setting (Settings->Posting Settings->Enable visual (RTE)

3. Click "Reply" on the most recent/updated posting version of this list.

4. Remove

(top and bottom) around the list.

5. Always use [Courier New] Font. (It will stay lined up correctly if you use the correct font.)

6. Add in order by NVC case complete date.

7. Add the date you received your interview date so others can see from case complete to assignment time-frame.

Not sure if this makes sense or will even help in any way......but I messed the list up a couple times when I first joined VJ. I think it can be explained by 1 of 2 things......first....My brain is just fried from all the paperwork forms and organizing, lol....but the reason I stick with is that I did not realized that the newer posts where on the last page of thread. So therefore when I went into a thread silly me didn't look at the dates, just started reading, lol. So I took the very first list (thinking most recent posts go to the front) and added myself. Is there any way to edit that first post to let other new comers know that is not the correct list? Its just a thought and it was prolly only me that did that, lol :bonk:

It's a good idea though. This month is almost over, but we can include that in the first post of next month's thread. I think dwheels was trying to compile a list of FAQs, too, so we'll include that next month as well.

I do not want to make those waiting on the Guayaquil, Ecuador consulate jealous, but our request for an expedite was accepted on Friday :D . It took around 9 business days for the Guayaquil consulate to respond to our request.

Did you have an interview date set or did you just ask for the expedite? Did you send an email? When is your interview scheduled for? Thanks and congrats!

Can you include me on the conversation? I have a job waiting on me and I would love to travel with hubby and the kids.

Considering the long wait for Ecuador, I think it is a good idea to put in a request and see if you will be granted. hey, you never know:! :)

Got a call from the embassy yesterday, our interview is on Sunday the 28th! woooohoooo! Time to grill my husband on dates since he has trouble remembering his own birthday sometimes! SQQQUUUEEEE

(Also, sorry I've been MIA, I'm getting close to my due date and this child is just causing all kinds of problems! lol)

Got a call from the embassy yesterday, our interview is on Sunday the 28th! woooohoooo! Time to grill my husband on dates since he has trouble remembering his own birthday sometimes! SQQQUUUEEEE

(Also, sorry I've been MIA, I'm getting close to my due date and this child is just causing all kinds of problems! lol)

Well they sure took their sweet time.

Goodness 6 days! Congratulations

My wife just finished her interview at Algiers embassy. They almost did not ask any question and approved her! :-)

They told her to come and get her visa may 27th... Grrrrr... seriously more than a month just to issue an approved visa?

Not sure if i should push more or just be patient and wait.

This is like a chinese torture (1 drop at a time, and you dont know when the next one will drop!!).

USC who lived in Manabí, Ecuador with hubby from 2009 - 2013. Hubby became a naturalized American citizen in August 2016. Currently living together in northern Virginia.

It's a good idea though. This month is almost over, but we can include that in the first post of next month's thread. I think dwheels was trying to compile a list of FAQs, too, so we'll include that next month as well.

Hmmm okay. However putting it in the 1st, 3rd or last thread people still have to read.

I guess I didn't know it was that confusing when it says get the latest.

So re wording seems to be in order yes.

Saying don't copy won't help.

Sorry to blunt but if people read what's there its clear. Dates are clear. Why would anyone think the first post is most current? Just saying.

Personally since this is watched and monitored I think maybe just people saying "please add me or change this"

That way one or two people are in control.

I know that's how others do their treads like this. One or two people do the updating.

Because we have at times had multiple adds and the list came back all kinds of crazy.

Just some thoughts as I sit at the bus stop. ;)
